Hello,

I'm wondering why there are no accent marks in the Nestle 1904 Greek New Testament resource in Bibledit. Here is the full reference:

[CrossWire] *[Nestle1904] (1.3) - Nestle GNT 1904

At first I thought maybe that resource just doesn't include the accent marks, but I use the Xiphos software on Linux and the same resource from Crosswire does have accent marks. It also says it is version 1.3, with the note "Features: Greek accents." I'm not knowledgeable enough about Crosswire to know why this discrepancy exists, but here is the link to the module:

Any ideas? Thanks!

Hello,

At the moment there's something not working with the Sword websites.
Hopefully the Sword developers can find something or fix the situation with the Sword websites.
I've written to them, if there's any news from them I'll let you know.

Not sure if this is the cause of the issue though.

Hello Benjamin,

There was an issue with translating the SWORD resources to visible text. The filter to enable Greek accents was not enabled. This has now been fixed on the Bibledit Cloud demo site, see this:

Nestle GNT 1904

Note that the fix is in Bibledit Cloud only because that is the only Bibledit version that fetches and translates SWORD resources.

Question: Do you use your own self-hosted version of Bibledit Cloud? If not, you would use the public demo, which has been fixed, and it should work from now on your end. Note on the Bibledit client to clear the particular cache for this resource to get this fixed.

Thanks so much for looking into this! I see the change reflected in the public demo now. However, on my self-hosted Bibledit setup I'm not sure how to clear the cache for the resource. I tried  a few things but the I am still seeing the non-accented version. Can you give me specific instructions on how to empty the cache?

Thank you!

Hello Benjamin,

If the self-hosted Bibledit is the Cloud version then clearing the cache works via menu Settings / System. See the demo at https://bibledit.org:8091/system/index. There's a "Cache" header on that page, which allows you to clear the caches.

And just to provide extra information, in case of wanting to clear the caches in the Bibledit client version, that can be done via menu Settings / Resources. Then near the top of the page, there's a list of resources. Clicking on one of them brings up text like
Number of installed books for this resource: 66 [clear]
Then clicking [clear] does the job.
