To whom it may concern,

I am having trouble installing bibledit on a vps (oracle cloud) using Windows.

I looked at "How to install Bibledit Cloud on a VPS (2023 update)" but it looks like it was not done on windows and I don't know how to make it work using gitbash (i also don't know how to find my ssh path of my private key).

Any help would be appreciated,

Phil

Hello Phil,

The Bibledit for Windows that gets installed on a normal Windows edition can be installed on a Windows VPS too.

But it won't be the "Cloud" edition, it's a "Client" edition that runs on Windows.

Is it a cloud edition or a client edition that you'd like to get on the Windows VPS

Bibledit Cloud only runs on a Linux VPS.

Thank you for your reply. So I believe that I have already installed the bibledit client for Windows. But I want to connect the client to cloud (since the second and third step in "How to Install Bibledit" talk about this: https://bibledit.org/#:~:text=How%20to%20install%20Bibledit).

I want this mostly for synchronizing work between devices and for access to all resources in light of this quote from the home page "The Client actually allows for some very basic translation work, but to benefit from all the features Bibledit offers, especially for team work, and for access to all the Resources, one needs to connect the software to the Bibledit Cloud."

I would also like import original language bible resources that I have in Accordance if possible (BDAG and my preferred version of the Greek New Testament).

Thank you,
Phil

Hello Phil,

In that case you do need a Linux VPS to install Bibledit Cloud on, and then you get all the benefits of the Cloud and the synchronization between the various devices.
