Hello Phil,

Sorry for reposting a new thread? For some reason, all my responses are getting deleted or not going through on the last post???

So I have to try to post again. My apologies.

Otherwise, to your questions:

- I am not on Bibleedit cloud at the moment. Nor have I used at all the web app/bibleedit cloud.

Essentially what I did was:
1. Just downloaded the client on local (through the Mac app store) and I had created a new stylesheet. But when I went to apply it as per the instructions. I am not able to select anything.
2. Out of curiosity thought it was maybe something Mac related. So downloaded the client onto my Windows PC and installed it, again created a custom stylesheet as per process and went to select it, and also wasn't able to do anything further.

So I reached out here. I would expect that if there are downloadable and executable clients for the Mac and PC that the functionality should be roughly the same as any web app?

Thanks

Hello Jamie,

The situation is the same here on Bibledit for macOS.

Any such Bibledit on macOS, or Windows, and so on, has a bit fewer possibilities than the Bibledit Cloud version.
One of the differences is what you are seeing.

If the same app, Bibledit for macOS, is connected to Bibledit Cloud, and the user's rols is high enough, the stylesheet can be edited and selected.

A work-around for you would be to temporarily connect your Bibledit software to the Bibledit Cloud demo, see menu Settings / Cloud.

But be aware that in such a situation your Bible will be uploaded to a public demo, and may be edited by the public too. It's good to have a backup of the USFM in case you go for this work-around. But at least, this gives you the option to select the stylesheet used for export or for editing.

I guess the current functionality may feel a bit limiting. One option would be to submit an issue on GitHub for a future improvement to the app.

great thanks. This clarifies things a lot. I'll work to get connected and then see about future things of if I submit something on Github as a ticket.

Thanks for the time

Jamie,

I made a step-by-step tutorial for setting up Bibledit cloud on a server. I think this can be done for $5 on DigitalOcean.com. The process is a bit daunting, but not hard. And then you could test out everything with Administrator and moderator permission levels.
