Greetings,

I am back working on a new translation project and trying to relearn bibledit. This morning I made my first Consultation Note, and after saving, noticed that I had made a typo. When trying to edit the note, all of the text was greyed out. The message says "Click on your own contribution to this Consultation Note to edit them." (Should be "it", but that is a side issue.) I think I have clicked on every square pixel of the note, note title, area around, above, and below the note several times, but the note remains greyed out. (I have all of the settings enabled that I could find in the preference page.)

Note: I used the same login and session to try to make this edit (on the linux app). Later I signed into the iphone app with my same user name and had the same issue. The note text is greyed out and I can't select or edit it.

Is this a known issue? In searching the forum, I see an email from 2019 that editing consultation notes had been fixed. Or is it the more likely scenario that I have something set wrong or am misunderstanding the instructions? Please advise.

Hello Brian,

The behaviour of editing notes as you describe is not a known issue.
I tried to reproduce it locally, with Bibledit Cloud and the Linux client, but could not reproduce the problem.
Here is a link to a screen recording that shows that the note contents can be edited as expected.

It is important that the user who created the note and who wants to edit the contents has at least the role of Consultant.

Thank you, Teus,

I am the administrator and under the user tab it shows that I have all privileges to all bibles. However, I am afraid to demote myself to consultant for the fear of losing controls that I can't get back. Please advise. (I have also tried on the ipad app with the same results. The text of my note is greyed out when I go to edit it and I am not able to make changes.)

Hello Brian,

There's no need to lower your role from Administrator to Consultant, because to be able to edit notes, one needs to be at least a Consultant, but since you are the Administrator, you're good to go and should have all privileges to edit that note.

That said, the issue is a bit weird, and I cannot reproduce it locally. Would I be allowed to get an account on your server to check this out? If that could be done, please send me the credentials offline.
