What do you think? Is this for real?

The patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Ethiopia says he will announce
to the world Friday the unveiling of the Ark of the Covenant, perhaps
the world's most prized archaeological and spiritual artifact, which
he says has been hidden away in a church in his country for millennia,
according to the Italian news agency Adnkronos.

Abuna Pauolos, in Italy for a meeting with Pope Benedict XVI this
week, told the news agency, "Soon the world will be able to admire the
Ark of the Covenant described in the Bible as the container of the
tablets of the law that God delivered to Moses and the center of
searches and studies for centuries."

The announcement is expected to be made at 2 p.m. Italian time from
the Hotel Aldrovandi in Rome. Pauolos will reportedly be accompanied
by Prince Aklile Berhan Makonnen Haile Sellassie and Duke Amedeo
D'Acosta.

D'Acosta.

Abuna Pauolos, patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Ethiopia

"The Ark of the Covenant is in Ethiopia for many centuries," said
Pauolos. "As a patriarch I have seen it with my own eyes and only few
highly qualified persons could do the same, until now."

According to Pauolos, the actual Ark has been kept in one church, but
to defend the treasure, a copy was placed in every single church in
Ethiopia.

He said a museum is being built in Axum, Ethiopia, where the Ark will
be displayed. A foundation of D'Acosta will fund the project.

The Ark of the Covenant is the sacred container of the Ten
Commandments as well as Aaron's rod and a sample of manna, the
mysterious food that kept the Israelites alive while wandering in the
wilderness during their journey to the promised land.

The Bible says the Ark was built to the specifications of God as He
spoke to Moses. It was carried in advance of the people and their army
by priests. It was also carried in a seven-day procession around the
walled city of Jericho.

explorer Ron Wyatt (wyattmuseum.com)

The idea that the Ark is presently in Ethiopia is a well-documented,
albeit disputed, tradition dating back to at least 642 B.C. The
tradition says it was moved to Elephantine Island in Egypt, then to
Tana Kirkos Island in Ethiopia and finally to its present site at St.
Mary's of Zion Church in Axum.

Ethiopians believe it is destined to be delivered to the Messiah when
He reigns on Mount Zion – the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

Jeremiah 3:16 points to a time when the Ark will vanish not only
physically, but from the minds of the people: "And it shall come to
pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days,
saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the
LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it;
neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more."

The Book of Revelation says the Ark is in the temple of God in heaven
(Rev. 11:19). Muslim scholars say it will be found near the end of
times by the Mahdi – a messianic figure in Islam.

I have excellent copies of Ron Wyatt's work...he says the REAL ark is in Jeremiah's Grotto in Israel and that he has seen it....I also have read a very scholarly book on the Axum Ark....fact is that there were at least two Arks in antiquity anyway...I can't wait to see this announcement...Thanks Joe,

Ken

If the Ark is brought forth from Ethiopia in Axum it will prove many
of the Bible codes to be true.

This just being one of them for instance.

I have read somewhere that the following things led to the "acceptance" of the Ethiopian Jews at a time when they were NOT accepted by the Israeli's 1) Their language (Hebrew) was more pure than the European re-write 2) their worship and lifestyle was more biblically accurate 3) they promised the ARK would be forthcoming 4) they KNEW verbatim the story of Menelik Solomon's son from LONGSTANDING oral tradition...

This may have turned out to be a misunderstanding by the media. I do
not know. Today is Saturday, and still, nothing more has been said as
to the unveiling of the Ark. I am becoming very ancy about this.
Here is one article that I found early this morning:

sad...in this era of "instant" media...stuff gets out there based on all kinds of hearsay and gossip and because of the internet, utube, twitter et al it becomes like that old saw...." the lie goes around the world before the truth even gets its boots on..." sad indeed,

I soon realized that what the priest said was "maybe someday the world you see the Ark", not that they were goingo to show it immediately... But it seems to have a promise to build a museum around the Ark... would it be a hoax too?

I mean, could it be that the promise to build a Museum to present the Ark permanently is also a misunderstanding, just like the report about the showing last friday?

Well, it is approximately 5:30 PM EST and there has not been any news as of yet.  I do not know if the article about the Ark's unveiling was true or a misinterpretation, but either way it is exciting.  If the Ark is to be presented, or even the people of Ethiopia agree to let a group of certain people to see the Ark, it will cause an up roar either way.  If it is opened to the general public, I can assure you that the United States will get involved, and there will be a massiave museum, and it will be heavily surrounded.

What I am curious of, are the contents of the ark still there???

God bless,

Joseph

Well, here it is, and I would have to say that this is fairly accurate
of a website. What are your thoughts on the events?

I think it's still a missinformation because at the end of the linked article, Reuters is shown... But if you go to reuters.com,  there are no news containing ark or covenant....
