Wednesday Night Dinner on 2/1 – Plan to be there!
Just a reminder that we will be meeting Wednesday night at 6:45 pm (same place – Inquirer’s Room next to the library). Genesis will probably take us 6-8 sessions but we will go with the flow as usual.
For Wednesday (2/1) we plan to discuss Genesis Chapters 18 – 27 and look at Character Studies to better understand how we can relate to this message. We had some lively discussion around Ishmael and Isaac. What was God’s covenant with Abraham – making nations of him, giving land (Canaan) and being their God – but no talk of salvation/grace etc. To keep the covenant Abraham implemented circumcision but was more required?
Glad to have Ted back with after several weeks with bronchitis.
See the link below for informative Character Studies or search for other perspectives!
Genesis has four (4) sections/ movements:
Primordial History – Chap 1-11: Creation all the way through Noah
Abraham Cycle – 12.1-25.18
Jacob Cycle – 25.19 – 36.43
Joseph and his brothers – 37.1 - 50
Attached is a link to a Genesis Character Study from Centervilleroad.com by Gene Taylor that looks at 13 major figures.
