Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon threw the three Hebrew children Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego into the fiery furnace because they would not worship his god (Dan. 3.20).
They were not burned because the fourth person the Son of God (Jesus Christ) was with them (Dan. 3.25).
We remember that God is a consuming fire (Heb. 12.29; Deut. 4.24 and 9.03).
Heb 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire.
Deut 4:24 For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.
Deut 9:3 Understand therefore this day, that the Lord thy God is he which goeth over before thee; as a consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the Lord hath said unto thee.
