AN earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale shook the town of
Myrtleford in Victoria's northeast this morning.
The tremor was felt about 6am (AEST) today, and lasted only a couple of
seconds, Geoscience Australia said.
Seismologist Phil Cummins said the earthquake occurred 45km southeast of
the town and did not cause any damage.
"We estimate a magnitude of 3.5, and was not large enough to cause
damage," Mr Cummins said.
"It appears to have been shallow, but the depth is uncertain."
