AN earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale has rocked parts of
southern W.Australia - and has been felt as far away as Perth.
The quake, centred southeast of Kojonup - about 270km from the city -
struck just before 8am (10am AEST) and was felt as far away as Albany ,
Narrogin and even Perth.
It is the strongest quake to have hit the south of WA in 40 years.
There are no reports of damage or injury but some residents in city
apartment blocks reported feeling the tremor.
Several months ago an earthquake was recorded south east of Augusta with
tremors felt in Albany and along the south coast.
