SYDNEY has been swamped with rain as more wild weather lashes New South
Wales, flooding streets, damaging homes and prompting severe warnings
across the state.
Residents of Sydney's Bronte and Maroubra reported seeing a twister rip
through the eastern suburbs this morning.
It came only 24 hours after the tornado which devastated Lennox Head on
the state's north coast.
Police say the twister tore the roof off a garage in Bronte. A woman
and a child at home at the time were not injured.
The weather bureau says most of the damage at Maroubra occurred about
one kilometre inland, meaning high winds and not a tornado were the
likely cause of the damage.
It's issued a severe weather warning for eastern Sydney, including the
CBD, with advice not to drive, cycle or walk through floodwaters.
