WILD weather is expected to continue lashing south-east Queensland today
for the fifth day in a row.

Storms have delivered heavy rain and hail, blacked out thousands of
homes and caused extensive damage.

Meteorologist Matt Pearce, from weatherzone.com.au, said more storms
were expected in the region today before a "drier change" kicked in
tomorrow.

"This will lead to a much more settled period across the state which
will last well into next week," Mr Pearce said.

Yesterday's storms brought decent falls of 35mm to Mount Nebo,
north-west of Brisbane, but only 2mm to Brisbane itself.

Other parts of Queensland have not escaped the wild weather, with a
storm causing a 107km/h wind gust at Winton, in the state's west.
