San Diego residents were shaken by another earthquake having greater
magnitude*

January 5, 1:55

5.8 magnitude quake Monday is most recent felt in a series to shake San
Diego

Another earthquake shook San Diego at just about 10:48 a.m. This quake
in Baja California had an epicenter reported to be 22 miles southeast of
Calexico. Calexico is in California just across the border from
Mexicali. Calexico is not very far from Yuma, Arizona..

Buildings were observed swaying for a brief amount of time in San Diego
without any early reports of damage or injuries immediately reported. No
reports of damage or injury elsewhere in California were reported; and
none in Mexico.

Monday's earthquake reached a magnitude of 5.8 making the Baja quake
significantly larger than the shaking felt just after 4 pm Sunday which
originated 30 miles south of Tijuana. The 5.8 Baja quake was reportedly
felt by Cochella Valley residents in Riverside county and was also felt
in Pheonix Arizona.

All recent earthquakes can be viewed on an index map linked here and
