Forest fires have burned hundreds of acres across the region this week.

Forest fires have burned hundreds of acres across the region this week.
In the past 24 hours, nearly a dozen fires have burned in the Big Sandy
region.
Rangers say the dry leaves are causing the fires to spread, and say
every time they have the fires contained, an arsonist sets it again.
Dry and windy conditions are pushing flames across the mountains.
“It's been extremely busy. Blue skies and lots of wind created perfect
burning conditions,” Tad Norris, District Forester said.
In the past 24 hours, firefighters have battled 10 fires in Pike,
Floyd, Johnson, Martin, Magoffin, and Lawrence Counties.
This fire has burned nearly 100 acres near the Banner and Dana
communities in Floyd County and officials say it keeps growing
Burn bans are in place in all of the counties in the Big Sandy region.
