Strong Magnitude-6.1 Earthquake hits Japan

Beijing, May 5 (IANS) An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale was recorded off the east coast of Honshu at 14.58.21 GMT Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicentre, with a depth of 24.20 km, was initially determined to be at 38.1730 degrees north latitude and 144.0398 degrees east longitude, Xinhua reported.
