Earthquake in California hits northeast San Diego County

A 4.0 magnitude earthquake struck 7 miles northeast of the San Diego
County town of Julian on Wednesday, according to the U.S. Geological
Survey, but no damage was reported.
At the San Diego County sheriff's Ranchita substation near Julian,
officials described the 9:58 a.m. earthquake as a rumbling before a
sharp jolt.
"The builidng just kind of shook," said Patti Hagerty, an office
assitant at the station. "At first there was a rumbling sound and a
jolt, but nothing bad."
Julian is about 45 miles northeast of San Diego.
