Hey folks,

This is hardly a pressing issue, but I just ran across this enhancement request on the BibApp issue tracker:

Journal publications are often the official publications of a scholarly
society, but are actually published by another (often commercial but not
always) publisher. It's generally the publisher that determines the
archiving policy, but it would also be useful to know the society
associated with the publications as well.

In the case that the society and the publisher are one and the same this
would just be repeated.
I have come across this issue in my own work, and it can lead to some confusion: some folks are tempted to put the society name in the publisher field, and if use both names but don't have them labeled explicitly then people can't seem to understand why there are two organization names in the record. Of course, one of the beautiful things about BibJSON is that we can use any attributes we want, but perhaps we should consider adding an attribute like the one proposed here to the next version of the spec.

Thoughts?

Also, do we have a central place to store proposed attributes, bib-types, etc? I feel like this has been discussed before, but I don't remember the answer.

An issue tracker might be a good solution, although a simple spreadsheet on Google docs would certainly do the trick for now.
