to Bhutanese Group
Hi All,

I know it's been a while since there were any active threads on this group - hope everyone is well and still involved with the refugees. Here in Providence we now have close to 200 in our tight-knit community and just 2 weeks ago had our first marriage. That was nice to experience.

The group www.himalayanhealers.org which was founded by an RPCV is starting a training program in March for 10 Bhutanese-Nepali Refugees. It will start as a pilot program - training + job placement with all expenses paid via a micro-loan to the trainees. If successful it will expand to other regions, but to start Rob wants a cohort from a community in Southern California. And ideally we want to partner with a RPCV who can help facilitate the application process and monitor progress of the graduates once they complete the program. I can send out more details later. But for now I just want to know if anyone on this group is from Southern CA or knows of another RPCV in that area who is already actively involved with the refugee community.

Hope all is well and happy holidays!

Thanks,

-- Aaron
