I’ve been working this entire weekend in getting a community garden in the Bhutanese apt. complex nearby my home. We’re also getting them to celebrate the new year with the Nebraska Nepalese Society (NNSociety). It has been busy, but it’s a lot of fun seeing the old ladies & men out digging in the ground & deciding what to plant. One of my Indian friends brought his rotivator over to till the soil. I wish I had a camera, but forgot it with getting everything else there.
Are there any contact in Atlanta? One of the Bhutanese families has a sister there & she is in the process of getting a divorce. She would like to move to Omaha with her 4 kids. I’m trying to figure out the cheapest way to get her here (cheap & best). Keep in contact.
Thanks.
Ron
Hi Everyone:
I’m in Omaha, NE (extreme east side – just acr0ss the Mighty Mo from Iowa). Actually. I have a woman with 4 kids that wants to relocate from Atlanta to Omaha.
Hope to hear from everyone.

The link below is for “Reel Lives” a project in NYC that provides an intensive film making workshop to allow marginalized, refugee and war affected youth to tell their story. The 2011 class includes a film by Parbat Chapagai a Bhutanese refugee who lives with his family in the Bronx, NYC. Parbat’s father Tika wrote to this Google Group over a year ago and through that contact my family and Tika’s have established a friendship. Some time ago the FON Newsletter also published a piece that Parbat had written about coming to the US. He’s a talented communicator. I believe there will be a friends and family showing at the Paley Center in NYC on July 9th for those in this area that may be interested. I’ll send more information when I can confirm
