Specificallylooking for the font that says FACE, I think it's the same as the font in the image that says Jimin. It's obviously been modified for the image on the album cover, but I'm looking for the original, assuming a typeface was used. I tried to run it through font identifiers after cleaning up some glyphs but haven't had any luck. The webpage for the album is here: I'm looking for a digital version, commercial fonts are fine.

Includes all art related to music packaging: covers, sleeves, back covers, cases, labels, liner notes, track listings, etc.; for albums, EP records, singles; as shellac and vinyl records, compact cassettes, compact discs, or another medium.

I have the same suggestion, I love power amp I have been using it for 7 years. But the user interface. When you pinch to make the fonts bigger it makes the artist circle or album art bigger, don't get me wrong Iove my album art. But that size ratio to fonts make you have to scroll alot more. But you not scrolling alot of artists or words just giant pictures & covers very hard while driving. Thank you

Things have moved on since maxmp has implented fonts. In my skins Yaps i have made a range of fonts available.. When it comes to font sizes, my paid app allows you to set the size of track title, album/artist independantly. Furthermore, you can increase the text of the metadata as well as text in library views.

The now-iconic image on the cover of Closer is a photograph by French photographer Bernard-Pierre Wolff. Taken in 1978, at the Staglieno Cemetery in Genoa, it shows a crypt filled with figures in mourning. This Neo-Classicist imagery was complemented with typography based on a 2nd-century Roman alphabet. These elements combine with the textured stock to create a visual experience that mirrors and enhances the music. The imagery on the cover took on greater significance after the suicide of lead singer Ian Curtis, which happened during the manufacturing of the album. Although the concept for the sleeve had been approved by the band before his death, both the label and the designers were accused of exploiting the tragedy when it was decided not to withdraw the artwork.

I am just beginning in Ai and need to do a simple trace of this font on an old album cover. When I do the "Black and White Logo" preset on the Image Trace Panel it turns the enitre image white. I'm sure there is an easy way, but I'm new. Thank you for your time and knowledge.

I am using a CSS Grid layout that has 2 rows and 1 column, inside of it, I placed a word that will occupy almost the entire view-port font-size:23rem;. I am trying to replicate this music album cover using only CSS and HTML. First in relation to my question I have two rows and in the starting row, or top row, I am placing two letters "U" and "N", if you look closely, the N is stretching more than its partner, the letter U, thus touching the other words, and if you go back to the U's lower end you can see this one is not touching the letter beneath, which is the T.

Since they both appear to have the same height and alignment on the axis, how can I successfully replicate the cover? Should I go for SVG text or draw the pattern for these on SVG? What would be the case if CSS couldn't replicate this?

As for implementation, I personally think that using an svg would be better, as this font doesn't quite match the cover, you can see from the way the 'N' touches on the left but not the right on the album cover.

I am on a bus in London, and I have just blown many weeks of pocket money on the Hunky Dory album, the one with "Life on Mars?" and "Changes". I think my older brother is on the seat alongside, and during the half-hour ride from Leicester Square to our home in the northern suburbs we gawp at the album sleeve, a tinted, textured photograph of the singer clutching his hair with a possessed gazed.

Now we'd call it precious, but at the time it seemed meaningful. As did the type at the top left corner featuring his name and the title, a font with a fat spacey feel that promised unusualness inside.

It's a godawful small affair, typography, especially these days with those tiny images you get when you buy an album track on iTunes. What used to be a proper square canvas is now almost a postage stamp, and although we can blow up the images onscreen, the joy of speculating about what an intricately designed and carefully chosen set of letters may reveal about the innards have long gone.

So here, as Hunky Dory celebrates its 40th anniversary, is my utterly subjective Top Seven Fonts on Old Albums chart, selected more for their care with type as the sounds within, although in most cases those aren't bad either.

Mrs America, a historical drama TV series produced by FX, uses the font Benguiat Caslon for the main title wordmark. Benguiat Caslon was originally designed in 1965 using phototypesetting technology and later digitized by House Industries. The flamboyant swash caps perfectly evoke the 1970s world that the show takes place in.

Lovecraft Country, a horror TV series produced by HBO, uses the font ITC Serif Gothic for the title and poster artwork. ITC Serif Gothic was released in 1972 and has been commonly used in slasher and sci-fi flicks ever since. It is set here with a background layer that is slightly offset, giving it a disoriented, blurry effect.

The Four Winds, a 2021 novel by Kristin Hannah, uses the font Peignot for the book cover art. When set in lowercase, Peignot is extremely easy to recognize due to its distinctive mix of small caps and traditional lowercase forms. However, when set in uppercase like this, it takes on a much more plain and stoic appearance.

At John&Jane we like to try to have personal projects on at all times, when we have some time away from client work we can work on something for ourselves. Downtime is part of studio life, but how you spend that time is up to you. We see it as an opportunity to play, experiment and learn new things. Making time to play is an important part of being creative and improving yourself as a designer.

It's Frank Ocean's 30th birthday this weekend, and considering the fact we love his latest album so much we decided we would turn this love into a creative project. When we saw the artwork for Frank Ocean's second studio album entitled "Blonde" we couldn't help but be intrigued by the typography. The artwork uses a customised version of Neue Haas Grotesk but has not been developed into a useable typeface. We decided to take on the challenge and design a full character set.

Starting with the font in the classic "Blonde" title we found the typeface that was used and customised. Nueu Haas grotesk has been chopped into a curve style that lets the word flow seamlessly, just like Ocean's album.

The aim was never for this to be a commercial font, it was more about passion, exploration and learning. The font itself is only likely to be used once, so we wanted to make the most of it by creating it's very own specimen. This legible and fully functional font is simply a homage to Ocean's unique music and following.

When the typeface was done we decided a type specimen would make a nice addition to the studio so we got it printed, we love a bit of print! We had a handful of specimens printed on uncoated stock with one colour only. We used a red which we felt complimented the trend and also the style that Ocean was going for on his second studio album. It's been great learning how to use some new software and having the chance to develop my skills. And to cap it all off we created a beautifully printed document that we can keep, and I'm pretty proud of that.
