Dear BHTOM team,
I would like to gain your attention to this object :
ZTF23aampwuc. The object is already added as a target in the webpage but we would like to encourage a follow-up on tih sobject. This object is one of its kind as is suggested to be a binary LBV or a binary composed of a SG and a RSG.
This object in M33 displays a pure absorption spectrum, including CO bands, consistent with its identification as a cool star. Radial velocity measurements of this red component, combined with modelling of the spectral energy distribution, suggest that J013242.26+302114.1 (ZTF23aampwuc) may be a binary system consisting of an LBV or B[e] supergiant primary and a red supergiant secondary. If confirmed, it would represent the first of its kind.
The optical spectra of this object display all typical B[e]SG characteristics, but the star’s IR colors displace it clearly from the sample of confirmed B[e]SGs. It has excess emission at 8 µm due to PAHs.
It has been brightening for about 6 years and now is showing some rising in the r-band.
We would like to kindly add it to the queue for observations.
Regards,
Marco Gómez
