Good morning.

 

The AP English students have turned in their nonfiction analysis from their summer books yesterday. I will get these graded and back to them. They also had a group project due and a week to work on it; some students and groups struggled to work well together. I reminded them that in college they will need to work with others and when they have jobs, the will also need to know how to work with other people.

 

Dual Enrollment papers are due! I asked the students to submit these by today, but many haven't. Paying $225.00 for a class that they are already required to take is better than paying a few thousand dollars later on and retaking it. I can accept these next week. Please consider dual enrolling your student.

 

We will begin the book Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer soon in class. I have copies I can share with students or they may use their own. And all students are reading a novel outside of class now. They are in groups based on their books, and they were permitted to choose a book from a long list.

 

Progress reports go out next week. I continually put grades in as they're completed.

 

Lastly, yearbook photos are on Thursday. Most classes received the payment packet already. If your student doesn't have it, ask them to see me for it.
