Dear Basha HS AP English parents and guardians,

Welcome. The purpose of this announcement list is to give you further information throughout the year; if you ever would like to opt out of messages regarding your child, please just email me back.

 

If you child would like to dual enroll in class, please fill out the paper work sent home (blue and pink packet) and bring back ASAP. They are due to me by August 21^st. Yearbook photos are on August 27^th here on campus so the student should be dressed accordingly.

 

BHS is selling 2010 Entertainment books. They have $15,000.00+ worth of coupons and costs $30.00. Please email me back if you’d like me to send one home. Make checks to BHS.

 

Your child can earn extra credit for blood donations (this includes family and friends donations). If you are able to donate, the first drive is Friday August 21^st from 7AM-1145AM in our gym. You can just send me your name, email, phone and time you want to donate (under 18 requires a permission slip I have in my room). They are awarded 15 points per donation.

 

The assignments from summer reading are coming along. Their test is this Friday followed by their essay due next Thursday August 21^st.

 

Independent Reading this quarter is a book from a list of dystopic novels. While we do not require any student to buy their books, we encourage it for more effective annotations. This is due in class tomorrow.

 

Our first book unit this year will be Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer. We will begin this book on August 17^th in class.
