It
is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carroll Dan True.
Dan was a loyal family man, beloved father, PaPaw, and friend to many.
He was born on December 23, 1951 and passed away on June 8, 2024. He
graduated from Bishop High School and Southwest Texas State University,
majoring in Industrial Arts.
Dan
was a respected member of the Bishop community. As a teacher and
administrator for Bishop CISD, he joyfully poured into the lives of his
students and staff with genuine love and care for others. He was a
faithful member of the First United Methodist Church, humbly serving
whenever and wherever there was a need.
Dan
was a man of many talents, and in his retirement spent much of his time
working in his shop, shooting competitively, and waiting on the lake
for a fish to bite.
His
greatest joy was his family. Dan was preceeded in death by his parents:
Edwin True and Inez True; his brother, Eddie True; and niece, Molly
Arnold.
Dan
leaves behind a grateful family who’ve been blessed by his life and
example. He is survived by his son, Danny True (Christin); two
grandchildren, Cooper True and Raegan True; sister Donna Gaye Arnold
(Gary); nephew, Gary Don Arnold; and niece, Wendi Martinez (Marcos).
A
visitation reception will be held at the True home in Bishop at 9am on
Saturday, June 15, 2024, with graveside services at Restland Cemetery,
Bishop, TX at 10am. Rev. John Valles, FUMC Bishop, will be officiating. A
reception will follow at the Bishop First United Methodist Church
Fellowship Hall.
These
gatherings offer an opportunity for all who knew Dan to come together,
share stories, and pay their respects to a remarkable man whose presence
will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
