Fern Elizabeth True Johnson 1921 - 2023

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Fern Elizabeth True Johnson on Monday, July 31, 2023. We are also thanking God for the amazing and long life she lived.
Fern was born on October 23, 1921 in Bishop, Texas to John Alfred True, Sr. and Nannie Eliza (Jake) Webb True. Fern was 101 years and 9 months old.
Fern has lived a very long, active and loving life. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. She was a beautiful lady with a beautiful heart. She always saw the best in everyone. Fern loved to cook and entertain in her home for family, friends and all the groups she belonged to.
Fern was a wonderful wife, mother, Nana, great grandmother, mother-in-law and aunt. She loved God and family, had a positive attitude, zest for living, cute sense of humor and always dressed beautifully. She was an active member of First United Methodist of Alice, Texas, United Methodist Women, Desk and Derrick Club for 24 years, Petroleum Wives Club for 30 years, Alice Country Club, The Church at Horseshoe Bay, Faith Bridge Sunday School and Kindred Sisters. She was still entertaining and serving as President of several of these well into her 90’s. Fern loved to dance, work Sudoku puzzles, listen to country music, read the newspaper and watch the news.
Fern is predeceased by her parents, John and “Jake” True and her four siblings, John A True, Jr., Ernestine True Lynn, George S. True, and Margie True Best. She is also predeceased by her husband, Johnny L. Johnson and her son, Rodney Kenneth Robison, Sr., and her previous husbands, William Kirk Robison, Jr. and Roy J. Jindra.
Survivors include her son, William Kirk Robison, III and wife Mary. Fern is also survived by four grandchildren, Rodney Kenneth Robison and wife Shelly, of Abilene, Jason Robison and wife Leah of San Antonio, Scott Robison and wife Rachel of Houston and Elizabeth Robison Kollaritsch and husband Andrew of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Fern was also blessed to have eight great grandchildren, Emily Robison of Round Rock, Denali Robison Graham and husband Josh of Abilene, Evelyn, Jacob and Charlotte Robison of San Antonio and Eleanor, Joshua and Thomas Kollaritsch of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Many nieces and nephews and other cherished friends survive her as well former daughter-in-law Pam Taylor, who remained close to Fern throughout her life.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to her friends, family neighbors and care givers who have showered her with love, attention and food these past several months. Fern moved to Horseshoe Bay four years ago this month. She loved it here and constantly commented about the beauty of the trees and hills and the friendliness of the people. Thanks to all of you who made Fern feel welcomed!
Funeral Service will be held at The Church at Horseshoe Bay on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm followed by the service at 2:00 pm. Another service will be held in Alice, Texas on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at the First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 9 - 10 am with the funeral service beginning at 10:00 am followed by burial in the family plot in Roselawn Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Fern’s name to First Methodist Church of Alice, Texas, The Church at Horseshoe Bay or a charity of your choice.
