Yolanda C. Reyna passed away on June 21, 2026, at the age of 91. She was born in Matamoros, Mexico, and resided in Bishop, Texas most of her adult years of life. She married her adolescent sweetheart, Heliberto Reyna, on August 15, 1954. Yolanda was a devoted housewife that entailed many special traits, such as a plumber, mechanic, doctor, and teacher. She was a supportive mother, exemplary grandmother, caring daughter, loving sister, and a genuine friend.

She was the heart of our family, the one who brought everyone together and made every person who entered her home feel loved and welcomed. Her greatest joy was caring for those she loved and nowhere was that love more evident than in her kitchen. Cooking was never simply preparing a meal; it was the way she expressed her love. Every dish was made with patience, care, and a generous heart. Her recipes, seasoned with love and tradition, became cherished family favorites. One of the greatest traditions she created was Sunday lunch. Every Sunday, her home became the gathering place for her children, grandchildren, and extended family. The table was always full—not only of delicious food, but of laughter, stories, encouragement, and love. She believed there was no greater blessing than having her family together under one roof, and she worked tirelessly to make those moments special. Those Sunday afternoons became treasured memories that will live in our hearts forever.

Her radiant smile lit up any room she entered. One of her passions was maintaining her flowers and plants. Watching her flowers blossom was one of her biggest joys. She was a woman of exceptional character and unwavering morals. She believed in honesty, respect, kindness, humility, hard work, and always putting family first. Through her words and, more importantly, through the example she set every day, she taught her children the values that shaped the people they have become. Her guidance gave them strength, integrity, compassion, and resilience. Her legacy is not only found in the lessons she taught, but in the lives her children now lead, carrying her wisdom and love into their own families. She greatly enjoyed having all her family get together on holidays, but having a Pachanga for all small occasions was even better for her. Moreover, her beautiful voice was heart-warming to the ear, especially when she joined her son Miro singing a song or two to the ones that she knew the lyrics to. A second passion that she possessed was accepting friends as sons, daughters, grandchildren, and family members.

Her love and compassion given to these special individuals resulted in them calling her Ama, Aguelita, and Amiga. Furthermore, she lived life to the fullest and loved spending Thursday nights with her two dates- (Kike and Miro-sons). She anxiously looked forward to every Thursday because she knew she had to get ready and look extremely nice for them. All in all, her nine children were her pride and joy. Her last wish was the enlighten the entire world with this one statement, “ Mis Hijos Fueron Mi Requeza”. We will forever miss her comforting voice, her warm smile, her incredible meals, and the way she made every gathering feel like home. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on in each of us—in the traditions we continue, the love we share, and the lives we strive to live in her honor.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Angeltia C. Silva, her beloved husband, Heliberto Q. Reyna Sr, her daughter, Herlinda R. Vera, and her first grandson, Edwardo Perez Jr.

She is survived by her daughters Janie Perez, Zoila Gonzalez, Irma Reyna, Concepcion Reyna, her sons Eliberto (Norma) Reyna Jr., Delmiro Reyna Sr., Enrique Reyna Sr., Gabriel Omar Reyna, 25 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren.

Family will receive condolences on Sunday, June 28, 2026, starting at 5:00 PM with a Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 PM at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. A funeral Mass will take place at St. James Catholic Church in Bishop, Texas, at 11:00 AM, with a burial to follow at Restland Cemetery in Bishop, Texas.
