Tomasita Rodriguez of Columbus, Texas, passed away on January 23, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Tommie was born on May 1, 1958, in Kingsville, Texas, to Victor Mario Gutierrez, Sr. and Tomasa Sanchez Gutierrez from Driscoll, Texas. She is preceded in death by her mother, Tomasa Gutierrez.
Tommie is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Eduardo Rodriguez. She is also survived by her children, Vanessa Nicole Rodriguez of Sydney, Australia, Adria Justine (Stephanie) Rodriguez of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Eduardo Thomas Rodriguez of Austin, Texas, and granddaughter Emerson Elayne Rodriguez. Survivors also include father Victor Mario Gutierrez, Sr., sisters Debra (Gilbert) Garcia, Susan (Arturo) Gomez, brothers Victor Mario (Cassandra) Gutierrez, Jr., and Rick (Christina) Gutierrez and several nieces and nephews.
Tommie grew up in Driscoll, Texas, and graduated from Bishop High School in 1976, and attended Texas A&I University in Kingsville,Texas. She was a dedicated employee to the Curtis Hankamer Corporation from July 1982 – June 1995 and Gregory A. Herbst, CPA, P.C. from July 1995 to January 2022 in Houston, Texas.
Tommie had an incredible gift for creating beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces with items she collected throughout the years. Her lovely yard filled with oak trees and plants is a haven for all to enjoy. Her home’s interior is also a reflection of the care she took to create a beautiful, warm and inviting place for her family to enjoy. Tommie’s greatest gifts, however, were her ability to love unconditionally and to fill a room with her infectious laughter. She was a strong, courageous woman who lived her life with grace and humility. She will forever live in our hearts.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, Corpus Christi, Texas, followed by inurnment at Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Ronald McDonald House of Corpus Christi, TX.
