Willie Mae Sheets, age 92, passed away Friday, September 29, 2023. She was born on May 2, 1931 to Jack and Lizzie McNabb in Taft, Texas. Willie Mae loved attending school in Taft. Her family then moved to Alice where they lived on a dairy farm. She would bring in the cows from the pasture with her Sis. Her family later moved to Bishop, Texas. Willie Mae married Arthur Ernest Scholz on November 8, 1946. Together they raised one son and three daughters. Willie Mae enjoyed being a mom. What she did for one, she did for all. She had dinner ready when the kids came home from school. She made sure the kids had matching outfits on special holidays. While Arthur worked, Willie Mae took the kids to visit their grandparents.

Willie Mae and Arthur were married for 24 years. Arthur passed away in 1969. Willie Mae became a widow at a young age. Willie Mae found love again. She married GR “Chuck” Sheets on November 23, 1974. She often said "I had the best of two worlds". Arthur worked at a refinery as a plant operator. He was also a mechanic and could fix anything. Chuck was a businessman who often traveled. Willie Mae enjoyed her travels with Chuck. She loved to shop with her sister, Etta. They would often purchase matching outfits. Together, Willie Mae and Etta organized the McNabb Family Reunion. The reunion had a special place in her heart. Willie Mae’s hobbies included shopping and having a spotless house. She was always cleaning. She loved her collections of ceramics, dolls and jewelry. Willie Mae will be remembered for her love of family. 

Willie Mae is preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur; her second husband, Chuck; her parents, Jack and Lizzie McNabb; her parents-in-law, Arthur and Bertha Scholz; her brothers, Tex (Ethel) and Tom; her sisters, Louise (Bill) and Etta (Edwin); two great grandchildren, Kathryn and Kimberly; her son, Arthur Ernest, her son-in-law, Charlie; and her son-in- law, Mike.

Willie Mae is survived by daughters Sandra Kay (Michael) Majek, Sharen Ann Rickman and Karen Ann Tatum; daughter-in-law, Janette Scholz, her grandchildren, Brian Scholz, Robert (Kimberly) Scholz, Kevin (Jamie) Scholz, Christy (Carlos) Esquivel, Cheryl Majek, Charles (Liann) Majek III, Carl (Anne) Bothe, Connie (Danny) Bujnoch, Chris Tatum; her great grandchildren, Abigail Scholz, Kenny Scholz, Mason Scholz, Emma Scholz, David Esquivel, Emily Esquivel, Kayla Reyna, Anthony Reyna, Christa (Mandy) Mawyer, Joe (Kelsey) Garcia, Kaitlyn Majek, Kelsey Majek, Carli Bothe (Mason), Romi Leal (Chris), Christopher Tatum, Ryan Tatum and Colton Tatum; and two great-great grandchildren Everleigh Saunders and Rhett Johnson. Willie Mae is also survived by her brother Sam(Esther) McNabb and her sister in law Ollie McNabb. 

Services will be held at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church on Friday, October 6th. Viewing will be from 10-11am, Holy Rosary will begin at 11am, Funeral Mass will be at 11:30am and the Burial will follow at 1:30pm at Restland Cemetery in Bishop, Texas.
