Throughout the school year, Bloomfield Hills Schools PREP students participated in a residency with world-famous Detroit artist Hubert Massey and renowned photographer S. Kay Young, collaborating on a mosaic mural and preparing photography and other art for an exhibit now available to view at The Hawk Farmington Hills Community Center.

Bloomfield Hills Schools fosters public speaking skills through Forensics Teams, existing in all three middle schools and at Bloomfield Hills High School. Middle School teams prepare students for the more rigorous high school level competitions.

Bloomfield Hills High School and the Bloomfield Hills Schools English Language Development Department proudly congratulate BHHS 12th graders Samyia Almaajoon, Kenan Alsaghir, Ausfia Jannat, and Leen Said for being awarded the Michigan Seal of Biliteracy. All students demonstrated Intermediate High proficiency on world language assessments.

Bloomfield Hills Schools celebrates the diversity of families within the school community with an annual Multicultural Celebration. Now in its fourth year of being a district-wide event, the Parent Teacher Organization Council, composed of volunteer family members from across Bloomfield Hills Schools, hosted this educational celebration of culture in the Bloomfield Hills High School Main Commons.

Each year, Bloomfield Youth Assistance honors students from the community who have proven to be outstanding citizens. The winners were honored at the annual Outstanding Youth Citizen Awards Ceremony this spring.

Along with districts across Oakland County and the country, BHS continues to experience some staffing shortages. In the coming days and weeks, it is possible that our district will experience some consolidated, changed, or canceled transportation routes due to staffing shortages.

Although masking is not required in our schools per OCHD, we continue to strongly recommend face masks and provide face masks to staff, students, and guests that choose to wear one. We are continuing to work closely with OCHD to ensure we have mitigation efforts in our schools. |

Bloomfield Township Public Library is hosting the Art From the Hills 2022 Exhibition from May 17- 27, 2022. This exhibition provides an opportunity to celebrate the Bloomfield Hills School Visual Arts program.

On August 2, 2022, voters in Bloomfield Hills Schools will be asked to consider a proposal to restore the Non-homestead Operating Millage.
• Required for Bloomfield Hills Schools to receive full revenue per pupil.
• The majority of families in Bloomfield Hills Schools qualify for the Principal Residence Exemption and will not be affected by the restoration of 2 mills.
• The tax rate for Non Principal Residence Exemption properties (like business and rental property owners) will not increase. For a business with a taxable value of property established at $200,000, the tax cost would be $3,600 ($200,000 x 18 mills ÷ 1,000), the same tax rate applied today.
• No levy increase, current tax rate (18 mills) since 2000. |
The Pandemic-EBT (P-EBT) Program provides food benefits to families with children who were not able to get free or reduced-price school meals due to COVID.

The summer programs in Bloomfield Hills Schools will extend the school year by providing continuous learning opportunities for students. The purpose of K-8 summer learning is an extension of this school year (not a head start for next year) and staying sharp on content that was covered in the grade the student just completed. Bloomfield Hills High School offers summer programming for course recovery, required courses to accelerate high school curricular opportunities, and Special Education courses. |
