Futurists and Citizens, please participate in a discussion on our planet's future, our city's greenery and its Lakes!

In the 22nd edn of Earth Friendly Choices, we invite you to join in two exciting discussions!

First is about the future of the Planet!  Will the Economic system adapt fast enough to save us from the Climate Crisis it has caused?

Second one is about the Lakes and Greenery of Bengaluru.  What Agenda could we Citizens set for 2019, to save our precious water security and the environment of Bengaluru?

AGENDA

9:00 AM : Gates Open
9:30 AM : Movie Screening - 'The Third Industrial Revolution: A Radical New Sharing Economy'
11:30 AM : Refreshment Break
11:45 AM : Group Discussion - Nature in our City - Lets talk LAKES!

In the first part of the program, we invite you to a Documentary screening, on the possible reaction of the Economic System, to what essentially is a Climate Crisis created by it, to save the world. The roadmap ahead offered by Jeremy Rifkin is of a systemic shift in the Economic activity of the world, facilitated by new technologies. After watching the movie, let's discuss and debate, if this is going to work, or if it's a pipe dream!

In second part of the program, we'll discuss Bengaluru's Lakes and Greenery! What we citizens can and will do about it!

Ready for some action folks? All Futurists and Citizens, please show up! It's going to be invigorating! We can set our agenda for 2019 and beyond!

The movie is a roadmap offered on the possible reaction of the Economic System, to what essentially is a Climate Crisis created by it, to save the world. The roadmap ahead offered by Jeremy Rifkin is of a systemic shift in the Economic activity of the world, facilitated by new technologies.

Jeremy Rifkin is an American economic and social theorist, writer, public speaker, political advisor, and activist. Rifkin is the author of 20 books about the impact of scientific and technological changes on the economy, the workforce, society, and the environment. His most recent books include The Zero Marginal Cost Society (2014), The Third Industrial Revolution (2011), The Empathic Civilization (2010), and The European Dream (2004).

Rifkin has been an unpaid advisor to the European Union since 2000. He has advised the current president and the past two presidents of the European Commission and their leadership teams. Rifkin has also served as an unpaid advisor to the leadership of the European Parliament and prominent European heads of state - including Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany - on issues related to the economy, climate change, and energy security, as well as to China.

The most important questions are: Will Rifkin's proposed Roadmap really pan out, will it really happen. Even if the world buy's into it, does the world really have the resources to make it happen... Is it wishful thinking? Or will it save the world?

Come watch the movie with us, and join the discussion and debate!

How do we save the lakes that remain? How do we improve them? How do we build new lakes? What about trees and forests in the lake ecosystem? How do we re-wild the City?

Does our city have a plan? What could we citizens do?

What Agenda could we Citizens set for 2019, to save our precious water security and the environment of Bengaluru?
