Dear friends,

A False Case was filed by the Karnataka Govt's BBMP invoking unwarranted sections of IPC  253 (rioting), and 286 (obstruction of public servant), in a desperate attempt to intimidate and silence citizens who are objecting to the construction of an illegal road on top of lake buffer and rajakaluve buffer zones in violation of various environmental and planning laws, in a corruption that favours a major real estate group and politician.    

We have updated our petition with a page on the False Case:


We appeal to all of you, to please spread the word, share widely, and if you have not signed the petition, please do sign!  Thank you!  

We would also appreciate it if you can reach out to influencers, media, politicians, bureaucrats and other decision makers to make them aware of this blatant abuse of laws, and the ongoing illegal road construction as well as destruction of the lake ecosystem of 'Pattandur Agrahara Lake 54' in Whitefield, Bengaluru.  

Any other way you can help to discipline the BBMP and Karnataka Govt, will be appreciated!   Please share your ideas and views.

Dear Friends,

Not even a week had passed after our 3rd public protest against the Lake Buffer Zone violations, and the MLA of the area Mr. Aravind Limbavali drops a bombshell.  He organised a meeting with Lake Activists, purportedly to collaborate with them to save lakes.  And in this meeting, we questioned him about the illegal road project violating Lake Buffer and Rajakaluve Buffer Zones of Pattandur Agrahara lake, being pursued by the Govt.  In a shocking reply, the elected representative said the illegal road should be built !!

Citizens were outraged at the callousness and irresponsibility, even arrogance of this stance!  He takes this position, despite the fact that the KTCDA has stopped the project citing lake buffer violation. This is despite the fact that citizens and activists protested in hundreds only a week before around the lake, demanding cancellation of the project! This is despite corruption investigations ongoing on the project.. This is despite the public knowledge that this is a corruption project to favour Builder Mafia...   Is there no MORALITY left in POLITICS at all?

Hence this Open Letter from citizens to the MLA questioning his ethics and value system!

Please make this go viral, spread the news in all corners of the country! We need to hold our public servants accountable!

My opinion piece in yesterday's Deccan Herald, arguing that the present BBMP Delimitation Proposal will mess up the city, the existing village boundaries need to be made ward boundaries.  What do you think about this?

Dear Friends, 

Little Steps... We must celebrate but not stop campaigning until we save this critical source of water. While pumping funds into a lake conservation project is a brilliant first step, the implementation is pivotal and for this additional public pressure is needed.
 
Please get more and more people to sign the petition! Your support will see that the authorities immediately begin the fencing work, remove encroachments, and protect our lake from illegal dumping.

Our founding fathers gave their lives to free our nation!  Don't we owe it to them, that we work to fulfil their aspirations, their vision for a Free India?  How do we do that, when we are not even aware of the vision of our founding fathers?  

Have you read the 'Hind Swaraj'?  This book was the vision of Mahatma Gandhi for free India.  It is a manifesto for the civilisational revival of India.    

Let us all demand that the 'Hind Swaraj' be made the National Book of India.  This might help keep the vision of our founding fathers alive, and keep the nation focussed on the lofty aspirations of our freedom fighters!

We got our freedom 75 years ago, but we forgot what we fought for!  Yes, we have no clue what the vision of our freedom fighters and founding fathers was.  Because we haven't read their works.  The most important of them all is the HIND SWARAJ.  Because it was the vision of the Father of the Nation, Gandhiji.   What an insult that we honour him as the father of the nation, but we have forgotten his vision?  It is time to correct that!  

In the 'Hind Swaraj', Gandhiji gave us a vision of freedom, he gave us a vision for grass root democracy, he gave us a vision for sustainable living, he gave us a vision for peace and coexistence, he gave us a vision for Indian civilisational revival.  Today, more than ever the message is relevant.  As we face challenges of climate change, planetary degradation, social strife, this book holds the answers to deliver us from imminent doom.  This holds the answers for a vision of India, as well as how India can be a leader for the world.  The book inspired a generation of Indians to join the freedom struggle.  The true message of the book however is for Indian Nation building.  The freedom fighters have done their job. Now, it is our turn to build the Nation of Gandhiji's dreams.  Let's understand and fulfil the vision of the Father of our Nation!

Gandhi's "Hind Swaraj" should be declared the National Book of India, and it should be studied by every Indian.  Hind Swaraj holds answers to all our challenges today!  Let's demand that Hind Swaraj be declared the National Book of India.  Let's generate awareness on Gandhiji's dreams for India!  Let's strive to achieve them!
