Hi Community Reporter people

Would anyone be interested in doing some interviews for our show in Lewes tonight for Radio Reverb?

Melita Dennet from BBC is running a weekly show for Reveb & she's looking for producer assistants to help produce content for the show. This is a fantastic opportunity generally - I'll be sending out further details very shortly!

She said that if anyone covers tonight, she can include it in her weekly slot. If you are interested, please email me back - I can send you the 1 page spec & her contact details.

Best wishes
Amy

African Night Fever and Brighton’s Black History Month team up to present Brighton's most sizzling monthly party – Countdown Social Club. The night offers live music, spoken word, food, drinks and good vibes, from across the black and ethnic minority spectrum – Africa, the Caribbean and beyond.   The monthly night will take place the second Friday of every month until November.

Headlining the night is Linos Wengara Magaya, one of the foremost UK-based mbira players. Linos is a recorded artist, performs regularly at WOMAD and teaches Mbira as the School of African and Oriental studies in London as well as gigging regularly around the UK and beyond. He has been Brighton-based for the last 11 years.

Hot off Brighton’s spoken word circuit is hip hop poet Spliff Richard. He’s performed at Glastonbury, Hammer & Tongue, Brighton Festival Fringe, and many many other nights.

The night will also see a cracking live performance from African and Afro-Latin percussion ensemble, Phoenix Tamtam Collective, based in Lewes. The group leader is Thomas Christen.

Countdown Social Club’s resident DJ is Lewes-based Kenyan DJ Task (Tony Kalume), who runs Saturday Safari at Pelham Arms Pub in Lewes.  He will be playing uplifting reggae, sunny Latin vibes, deep dub and anything else to get the dance floor moving.
