Hi friends!! One of my friends from Alternate Spring Break heads up the Big Brother Big Sister program, and I think that many of you who are looking to get more involved/make a difference in a tangibly meaningful and impactful way would really enjoy being a mentor. Look below for more details!

Big Brothers Big Sisters is currently reaching out for mentors from Penn to be matched to students at several West Philly elementary schools in the fall!   This flexible program asks minimal commitment from you - just 4 hours a month.  The program runs from late September until the end of May - nine months! That’s it!  Visit your Little once a week during their lunchtime, for an hour at their school – while you’re there you can eat lunch together, talk, play games – whatever is fun!  We work with your class schedule to find a time that works for you.  The schools are within walking distance of your campus, or we provide transportation!   Those weekly visits DO make an impact: Littles in our site-based programs show improvement in academic performance, are less likely to skip school and feel they will be more likely to attend and finish college. What an impact!
