Dear All in India
Please write letters to the following people immediately in order to
get a place for Sanskrit in CTET-2011. an examination required to pass by Indian
teachers.
The issue is – According to Right to Education Act (RTE), the passing
of Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is mandatory to become a teacher and it is
notified by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
Accordingly Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is conducting
Central Teacher Eligibility Test - 2011 (CTET-2011) as directed by MHRD. The
last date for Application is 15th May 2011 and the Test will be on 26th June
2011. Every candidate is supposed to take 2 language papers in the test. In the
list of languages there are 19 languages, but without Sanskrit. Details are
available in the home page of CBSE.

A writ has been filed in the Delhi High Court. But the hearing is on 31st
of May only and hence again an Appeal has been filed in the same court. In the
meanwhile, it is suggested that people of importance should write(through both
fax and email) to the concerned officials requesting to 1) include Sanskrit as
one of the options as a language 2) extend the last date for applying in the
case of Sanskrit candidates. You may kindly give your arguments in this regard.
