Late Dr. Rajiv Dixit, Founder of
'Swadeshi' movement |
Rajiv Dixit, the
all-India Secretary of ‘Bharat Swabhiman Trust’ and pioneer of ‘Swadeshi’
movement passed away yesterday and the ‘Swadeshi’ movement was hit with a big
blow.
It will not be wrong to say that death at only 43
years of age is an attack on Indian cultureand any true patriot who is aware of
the mission of Rajiv Dixit will agree with the same. It is not possible
to forget the mission of Rajiv Dixit whose ship with ‘Swadeshi’ sail surmounted
the tsunami of foreign goods used in this country.
Look at
one ‘Rajiv’ (Gandhi), who under influence of western culture, fell prey to a
foreign woman and the other ‘Rajiv’, who remained bachelor for carrying on the
mission of protection of his country, Dharma and culture. No Indian is likely to
forget this.
Rulers trying to bring British Rule
The British came to India for trade and they took over this
country; then for the next 150 years, they exploited Indians and looted India.
The only answer to the exploitation by the British was insistence for use of
‘Swadeshi (Indian)’ goods. Many freedom fighters staged intense agitations for
this cause. Swatantryaveer Savarkar first burnt imported clothes thus lighting
the sacred fire of ‘Swadeshi’ movement. Tata set up his own company and started
manufacturing products of Indian make. Mohandas Gandhi also insisted on
‘Swadeshi’. He started wearing hand-woven cloth. Thousands of Indians got
inspired with him and started using ‘Swadeshi’ products.
The Congress rulers forgot the ‘Swadeshi’ movement of freedom
fighters once freedom was gained and failed to educate the new generation on
‘Swadeshi’ issue; in fact, it never even made any attempt to teach the
new generation importance of ‘Swadeshi’ things. As a result, the generation,
post independence, gave priority to imported goods. The staunch patriots were
once again reminded of the British Rule with the privatization of companies
started from the year 1991 and presence of the multinational companies like
Pepsi, Coca, Hindustan Lever, Bennett and Colman and Mc Donald etc. in India;
but the ordinary Indian citizen did not realize it as he had forgotten about the
oppression and exploitation undergone at the hands of the British. Around this
time, Rajiv Dixit, a scientist studied in IIT, gave up his
job as he was fed up of corruption and decided to fight against corruption. He
started ‘Azadi Bachao’ movement to make Indians aware of the dangers that can
follow the multinational companies.
‘Swadeshi’ movement joint with spirituality
His tempestuous propagation in last two decades and the
response received from Indians, created a tremendous awareness among people
towards imported goods. He came across hundreds of youth who
participated in his movement. This led to decrease in sales of products
manufactured by the multinational companies. He was brutally attacked two
times; but fortunately, he was saved. He already belonged to a family of
revolutionaries. He had worked as a scientist with the senior scientist and
former President Dr. Abdul Kalam in France. Such staunch patriot Dixit was not
to be scared of cowardly attacks. He carried on with his mission quite
fearlessly. His movement was supported by Yoga guru
Pujya Ramdevbaba which in a way got spiritual
support. He started working through ‘Bharat Swabhiman Trust’ set up by Pujya
Ramdevbaba at Haridwar and was a national general secretary of this
organization.
O Hindus, grow several ‘Rajiv’ in the mud of corruption !
It was the intention of Dixit to give patriots and devout
Hindus as their representatives through the general elections scheduled in the
year 2014. Every Indian feels that India should become a super power; but for
that, it is necessary to overthrow corrupt rulers and elect nationalist rulers
and Dixit had planned to do the same job; but destiny had different plan for
him. He will not be able to see his dream come true; however,
the patriotic and devout Hindus must try to grow several ‘Rajiv’
from the muck in this country for the country’sbetterment to fulfill ‘Rajiv’s
dream as that will be the true homage to Rajiv Dixit.
