"Convergence of Science, Religion and Economics", my talk on 1996 November 3, at HTCS Sri Venkateswara Temple in Bridgewater, NJ on the occasion of the Conference on Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism), organized by Prof M G Prasad
Our many thanks to Dr M G Prasad for the invitation and the opportunity, it was very important. Our hats off, our gratitudes, respects, vandanas for all his help & contributions, also of all his family, and others involved, helping, supporting, encouraging, well-wishing etc.
The 23 viewgraphs from that talk at the temple in Bridgewater, NJ are given below.
The case is made here for viewing the fields of Science, Religion and Economics in a compatible, harmonious way rather than as three incompatible diverse disciplines, areas of human knowledge that are mutually at odds with each other or contradictory, division-causing etc.
These three fields greatly influence our lives, our living is much affected because of them, and we try to balance, to harmonize as much as we possibly can, in our efforts for our lives to be comfortable, happy, meaningful, fulfilling, etc.
In this connection, the importance of a new Dharmic Theory of Economics is discussed, and some preliminary ideas for it are presented, stating the needed underpinnings in terms of philosophy, individual dharmic behaviors, expectations. and then how the operational details etc can be defined in the context of a company or corporation and its work culture. Several questions or doubts that people may have or are likely to wonder about, are raised and answered, with the notion of Dharmic Company and Dharmic Management Principles in mind.
