some highlighted tit-bits

Then the history of the USA as a nation can go, and will go as far back into the past as we wish to view it, and as we wish to write about it, to 1776 and the Constitution, and the list of Presidencies becoming the latest chapters running into modern times. And, the history before that also exists in real view, with truths not erased, people not forgotten to advantage other selected views. We do not ignore the rest that were at a disadvantage at the time. We look back and see that good was there, the bad was there, also the ugly, And, of course, the divinely. This will be a better scholarship, of course.

Dear Dr. Halemane,

Thank you for sharing your thoughtful and wide-ranging proposal. We appreciate the depth of your perspective and your vision for fostering greater inclusion and awareness through initiatives such as Native American Studies across academic institutions.

Your ideas reflect a strong commitment to advancing meaningful dialogue and long-term societal impact, particularly within higher education. It is inspiring to see such a forward-looking approach that aims to contribute to unity, understanding, and scholarly development.

We would also like to take this opportunity to introduce how we may be able to support you. At Editage, we assist researchers, authors, and professionals with a wide range of publication and communication services. These include: ..

** Me:
Your offer to collaborate is very welcome. I think we need to connect with the various colleges and universities in America(s), and encourage them towards action, whatever they can or are willing to do. I see that November is the National Native American Heritage month, and if we can have say 50 or so institutions doing or announcing actions or support by then, or on July 4th say, it will be great. July 4th is also the 250th of course, and so very very special. And of course, Canada, Mexico, Central America, South America etc, even Europe, former colonial countries, and others like the United Nations, Asia, Africa etc, the whole world, can also be helpful in this process, to make it faster and more effective.

I am not sure how to reach all the universities, colleges, their Boards, their executives etc., but in general, we have to spread the word, gather support, regarding it.

Even if they have one junior or senior faculty member in any department, to start with, and be willing to take the lead on this cause on their campus, it will have the desirable positive effect of getting the ball started and rolling. So, let us work towards that.

** Me:
And, in due course, after some years or generations, this will make a strong difference for the better, improving the relations, emotional connections, perspectives etc, and somewhat similar to how the skin color and ethnicity issues are being accommodated now. And once we are over this BIG issue, there is no holding back. It is all in the free spirit of the USA.

It is both Build Back Better BBB as the Democrats & President Biden  wanted, and MAGA  Make America Great Again as the Republicans & President Trump wanted. So, it provides a good unification angle also, for politics, and for society.

And, once this good forward step is taken, all over the nation, from East to West, from North East to the South West, from North West to the South East, from North to South, the rest will happen over the future years, kind of automatically,

There is nothing to lose in this, everything here is a plus, as in FULL HEALING with any current lingering ailment or ill-health condition with a difficult situation that traces back to past turmoils.

Dear Editage team,
Thanks very much for your BEAUTIFUL reply appreciating my message regarding Native Americans.
It was very kind and thoughtful of you, also very encouraging and supportive, further inspiring for me.
I was very happy, very pleased to read it, and still digesting it more, we can say.

Please let me know more about what you have in mind, as I am willing to do a bit more towards it, what I have indicated there, regarding the various aspects or issues related to Native American people. It would be great to partner with you and others so interested.

Transformation Path Proposal for USA GREAT FUTURE is here =
With help from MIT, Wilmington, all colleges across the nation to start Native American Studies in
similar manner and fervor like Women, Black, Jeiwsh etc for example

Dear All at MIT / Sir / Madam / Baldev Singh,

Wishing You a Happy New Year, a Happy Black History Month

Well, it is very nice to see that MIT is offering several good intensive courses at the Professional Certificate level.
Thanks for your emails with info and encouragement.

By the way, back in the 1973-74 timeframe when I was doing MSc in Physics at IIT Madras, in India, I had applied to MIT for graduate studies, but had not paid the application fee, I had requested a waiver. It was only $10 or so, but it was not easy for me then, money was tight for our family, and government approval was needed for foreign exchange. In fact, I had received a letter from MIT in response to my repeated (?) request for fee waiver, the letter which seemed to indicate much interest in my application and advising me to pay the small fee. Finally I was not admitted because of that non-payment, as said in the rejection letter.

Anyways, in those days, I did not think it would matter much which place in the USA we studied.for graduate degree, and by that time I had
secured some admissions with assistantships, with financial help, and with waivers for application fee if any, so those were in the realm of doable for me, at the time, with me eventually getting three acceptances or admission offers (U of R, Purdue, Ohio State Columbus) out of the total six, with rejections from MIT, one on the West Coast perhaps Stanford / Berkeley / UCLA, maybe also Cornell, I do not remember very well)  I went to University of Rochester. Anyways, this is much much in the past behind us now, good for interesting party talks or anecdotes.

But now I have some proposals for a new vision, for a better future outcome for America, going far beyond the various current strong issues like ethnic makeup, racial equality, skin color, religious identity, immigration issues.

Delving purely, strongly, fully, into the spirit of it, into the hearts and roots of it, the "Spirit of America", and which is the real reason for the rest of the world to truly respect and greatly admire the USA, and it is also the cause of  jealousy about it for its success and so on, and because of which many of the problematic issues are alive and raging around us even today, race, skin color, ethnicity, immigration all included.

So, it is important to see this in its own light, value and virtue, with a better viewpoint, from the perspective of future generations.

And, I think, MIT can make a big difference here, regarding this. I had first mentioned this at the virtual online open house with Wilmington University, Delaware on 2026 February 4, and here are the details. All Universities and Colleges, others across the USA, can, and must, get involved and participate actively, positively, to whatever extent feasible and appropriate. it would be best if done that way.

The issue here is about Native Americans, and the desire or need to accommodate them and fully integrate them into the nation of USA, including the various tribes and their lands, and this time it will be as full participants in the American Democracy, and, not as losers with the conquerors, not as the suppressed with the aggressors,  not as the defeated with the victorious. The latter has not worked well, and is not going to work well in future also, in my opinion.

February is the Black History month, and there is much activity regarding it or as a result of positive impacts from it, that is going on everywhere, and rightly so, for well and good. And this includes what we now see as Black or African Studies in most schools, colleges, universities.

MIT and other colleges can start Native American Studies areas or Departments and encourage faculty and others to promote them
by incorporating related material in some ways in their courses, in textbooks, while mentioning examples, in making problems, in citing stories, in writing papers, in doing projects etc, by weaving them in, whenever possible or relevant etc, with good feeling, with good vibes, with sympathy, compassion, empathy, love, and, respect.
