It's a pleasure to meet you. Have a nice day. I'm a third-generation Indian immigrant. Are you Indian too? I hope we can get along well.
Thirumala Raya Halemane (He/Him) 12:40 PM
Hello, Jothika Yes, I am originally from India, now we are in New Jersey
Jothika Krishnan 12:43 PM
This is great. I live in Los Angeles, and my grandfather came from Nandi Mountain in Bangalore.
Thirumala Raya Halemane (He/Him) 12:43 PM
That's awesome
Good for you!
👍
Thirumala Raya Halemane (He/Him) 12:46 PM
I am from Mangalore = Kasaragod region, Karnataka - Kerala border. I studied in Bangalore, heard of Nandi Hills, not visited
Jothika Krishnan 12:47 PM
I was born in Los Angeles. I've heard that the food and coastline there are amazing, but I've never been back. I want to go back this year because I've always heard my father talk about it😊

Our son Kaviraj lived and worked in LA area several years, he is here with us now, near Princeton NJ
Jothika Krishnan 12:52 PM
I think I will go. I'm mainly here to see friends from my hometown and to learn more about its culture and history, which would be very helpful to me😁
Jothika Krishnan 12:55 PM
This is wonderful; living with family is always a blessing. My parents are retired and live on Mercer Island in Seattle. I have an uncle who lives in Philadelphia. Unfortunately, he and my father didn't get along well and haven't been in contact for many years, but I have a good relationship with him, and I'm planning to visit him
Thirumala Raya Halemane (He/Him) 1:30 PM
Yes, it is very nice that you have developed a good relationship with your uncle, although relations between your father and uncle were much strained perhaps (may have been better previously, this happens a lot, I also had an uncle like that, they were very close until I was teenager, then .... etc.. but I did visit him twice or thrice later on when I travelled back from USA, although not that often, they are in the village area, was not too easy to get there in those years). So, I am with you on this. And, I do not think your father, parents will be unhappy about it, they will be happy you get along well with him, etc, generally that is the case with parents, wanting the best for their daughters and sons.
Jothika Krishnan 1:33 PM
Yes, I think you understand this situation well. Family relationships can become complicated over time, even between people who were once very close. Life, misunderstandings, distance, responsibilities… all of these can slowly change how people relate to each other. I also agree with you most parents ultimately want their families to be harmonious, which is why I visit my uncle whenever I have time. I hope their relationship can improve after all, they are the closest people in the world to each other
Thirumala Raya Halemane (He/Him) 1:45 PM
👍 Thank you! 😊
Jothika Krishnan 1:47 PM
I'm glad we've had similar experiences, which have helped us grow. The biggest takeaway for me today is getting to know you. If you'd like, we could exchange phone numbers so we can stay in touch. What do you think?
Jothika Krishnan 1:53 PM
This is my phone number and also my WhatsApp number. You can also add me at .. I look forward to communicating with you further

Thirumala Raya Halemane (He/Him) 4:00 PM
Jothika, I am not on WhatsApp at this time, also my cell number had to be cancelled because of dispute with Verizon Wireless, and I did not get a new one so far, so that will have to wait a bit more, perhaps. Sorry about that, and in the mean time,

Thanks Jothika, I am happy to hear that. However, my old number.
732-938-9686 does not work, although I sometimes give it for filling forms when it is necessary to do so (if required), later i may ask them to chat with me on Gmail or instagram etc. We can video chat also there, if you like. Sorry about WhatsApp. I used it extensively until about two years ago, I think they have banned me also at this point.
Jothika Krishnan 5:31 PM
It's okay. Do you use Telegram? If you're not comfortable using WhatsApp, you can register a Telegram account using your mobile phone number. That way, we can communicate easily. My assistant usually handles my email for work
Thirumala Raya Halemane (He/Him) 5:37 PM
Okay, Thanks for your understanding. I would very much like a closer relationship with you Jothika, ❤️🥰😘, and thanks for your invitations to communicate in your preferred ways. I am not on Telegraph (others also have suggested it, but I did not do it).
Jothika Krishnan 5:38 PM
I think you can register using your mobile phone number, which will make our communication more convenient. I think it will only take you two minutes, and I look forward to establishing a closer connection with you.

Good morning Jothika, looks cloudy rainy here today. How was your work / meeting yesterday ??? (in the photo it is son Kaviraj and me, he was in LA area for nine years or so)
ps = As my Supervisor Dr T K Srinivas at AT&T Bell Labs mentioned, in the months leading to my being fired from my job there, "Perception is More Important than Reality". I had asked him what was going on, like they are working on my patent (his answer = No), he had also said "why you look like that?", "you must be under lots of stress". "what you are is what matters, not what your intention" etc during those days. His responses, good real info, & ALL HELP there deeply crucial, hugely helpful, to analyze, to understand our situation, to move forward. He helped greatly with HATCC temple efforts also. My huge gratitude to him.
Our many thanks, regards, namaskaars-praNaams and best wishes to Sir Shree Dr Tanjore K Srinivas avarugaLu Ji Sir and all family, also to others involved, helping, supporting, well-wishing etc

Good morning, it's 61°F here today. Overall, it's not bad, thank you for sharing. Your comments about Dr. T.K. Srinivas are sincere and touching, full of gratitude. Sometimes, those who offer us genuine advice in difficult times leave the deepest impression on us. Seeing your photo with Kaviraj is also heartwarming; wishing him all the best and good health😊

Hi, Jothika
Thirumala Raya Halemane (He/Him) 9:13 PM
I did not do it, We can video chat on gmail briefly now or tomorrow or so. Yes ???
Jothika Krishnan 9:15 PM
I don't have a personal email address; my assistant mainly handles my work through it. If you don't want to, you can download and register for Telegram; I won't force you. I've brought this up several times already, and I'm getting tired of saying it. Good luck!
Thirumala Raya Halemane (He/Him) 9:17 PM
my Instagram @thirumalaraya also works for video chat
Jothika Krishnan 9:20 PM
You don't know how to register for Telegram, and I don't know how to use Instagram, so that's it.
Thirumala Raya Halemane (He/Him) 9:24 PM
Hmmm... You can get disappointed or angry about it, or FRUSTRATED perhaps, or ask your assistant to move away for a few minutes and we can chat warmly. Isn't that better Jothika ???
Jothika Krishnan 9:28 PM
Why should I be angry? It's not my loss if anyone leaves me; there's nothing to regret. We're all adults, busy with our own lives, and there's no need to waste time on irrelevant things.
Thirumala Raya Halemane (He/Him) 9:38 PM
Okay, happy to hear that you are not angry with me

this is my uncle, my father's younger brother Mahalinga Bhat at hsi house (perhaps 1989 photo). When I was little, I was considered as his favorite little kid in the family, even sleeping in his bed. Similarly, my elder brother was considered as grandmother's favorite, and my younger brother was grandfather's favorite.

These two photos are from same occasion with me and my sons Kaviraj and Shilpi also in the pictures there, and one is with my uncle appachchi father's brother while the second one includes his wife (Sumathi) and son (Murali Krishna) also. My wife had stayed back in USA that time, in 1989 Nov - Dec time preparing for her qualifying exam at Rutgers University for her graduate degree, and I had to go to India to attend the IEEE TENCON conference in Mumbai where I gave a 3-hour workshop in Optical Fiber Communications, so I took the two young boys with me, so that our families there get an opportunity to see them and vice versa.

This is one more photo from that occasion. It is me (on the left) with Nambi, our trusted, capable, dependable, excellent farm worker there in our village property going back to my very young years (and his mother Patalthi, also a worker there, used to carry me or another little sibling, we had about 2 miles walk to catch the bus etc that is when very little, like toddler or so). So I was happy to see him there and took the photo. Later on, after my grandfather passed away, my father's share of the property was sold, and Nambi used to work for my uncle, I think. (my uncle had taken possession of his share, built his new house and moved before then, and my younger brother stayed with our old grandfather in the village old house for a few years, looking after the farms etc, as the rest of us were away in Mangalore and elsewhere.
Seen by Jothika Krishnan at 10:09 PM.

in the old photo here we see, my uncle (father's younger brother) appachchi Mahalinga Bhat H (on the left), sitting with us, that is me and my sons (younger) Shilpi and (elder) Kaviraj, at his Karinja Halemane house in Ednad village, India, in 1989 perhaps (?), photo taken when we visited. My wife Usha had stayed back in USA that time, in 1989 Nov - Dec time preparing for her qualifying exam at Rutgers University for her graduate degree, and I had to go to India to attend the IEEE TENCON conference in Mumbai where I gave a 3-hour lecture workshop on Optical Fiber Communications, so I took the two young boys with me, so that our families there get an opportunity to see them and vice versa.
