PHOTOS FROM MY SUMMER 1983 DAYS IN AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT, INDIA

in the old photos here, from summer1983 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India when I was a Visiting Scientist at PRL Physical Research Laboratory in Navrangpura there, staying at the PRL Guest House, my wife Usha was initially planning to do a research project with a professor at the IIM Indian Institute of Management there, she met with him once or twice, but then she decided not interested in pursuing it, stayed with me for a month or so, then flying to be with her parents in Mangalore, i stayed back there for another two or more weeks or so, then traveling to Mandalore, and before we both returned to Fredonia, NY where we both had faculty jobs in Physics Dept for me, in Business Dept for Usha, at the SUNY State University College. In Ahmedabad, at the PRL and at the Guest House I had met several visiting scientists, Indian-origin as well as white or foreign origin, from the U.K. or Europe, from the U.S.A., from elsewhere in India etc, besides the others there at PRL, including Dr Kamales Kar our friend from Rochester NY days. I also visited the space research center (their bus came to PRL), fashion institute nearby there, Gujarat University campus nearby, also traveled by bus for sightseeing to Gandhi Center, a temple etc (day trips), saw couple of Gujarati movies, in theater & in open air theater (with a scientist visiting from USA, We visited some restaurants and shops, but mostly ate at the Guest House, food prepared by the friendly staff there, Walked by or stopped by a few times at the street side chai shops, perhaps, .. etc..
