Dear Binduji,

I thank you for inviting me back to address the
Madhava Brahman community on the activities as well as
my vision for WBF. It was truly an enjoyable event,
and I wish more North Indian Brahmans have an
opportunity to attend such events.

Attached please find my address which I will
appreciate if you could forward to the VMS
distribution list.

Sincerely,

Nirmal
President, World Brahman Federation
609-792-5927

Via a copy, I am requesting Aswathji to include it in
his dispatch to the US Brahmin group.

Via a copy, I am requesting Saileshji to post it in
the WBF Yahoo group.

WBF President’s Address to
Vishwa Madhwa Sangh
On the occasion of Jayatheertha Aradhane, Allentown,
PA
July 15, 2006

Dear Fellow Brahmans:

I thank you for your invitation and allowing me some
time to update you regarding WBF activities. It was
Saturday, July 10, 2004, that I was here last time. I
may have been a stranger then, but certainly that is
not the case today.  I thank you for accepting me as a
member of your family.

WBF has now held two very successful conventions since
I was here on July 10, 2004.  Binduji, your message of
support on behalf of Vishva Madhava Sangh, meant a lot
to us, and we thank you for that. Thanks to your
message of support and several Madhava Brahmans who
wrote articles for Brahmodaya 2004, we had a very
successful convention.  The South Indian participation
was at 25%.  It was truly a historic event.

Last year, I accompanied Prasad Bhargavaji and Aswath
N Hanasogeji to Edison, NJ to meet with Puttige
Swamiji, and in that meeting, Swamiji gave his
blessing to WBF.  So, when we finally announced for
the convention this year, we could not think of any
one else but Swamiji who will be more suitable to
inaugurate the convention.  Prasad Bhargavaji took the
lead again, and arrangements were made for Swamiji to
inaugurate the convention 2006.  Unfortunately, due to
schedule conflicts, Swamiji could not return to USA in
time for the convention.  This was communicated to me
on June 5th, 2006, by Sri Kesav Raj who takes care of
his schedule.

Swamiji also communicated that he regretted not being
able to attend but his blessings were with us. With
those blessings in mind, we went ahead with the
convention, and as it turns out it was the best
convention we ever had.  The South Indian
participation level at 40% was something that no one
had ever seen any where in the world.  Dr. M G Prasad,
known to most of you, and introduced to me by none
other but our own Prasad Bhargavaji, commented after
the convention, Choubeyji, I have never seen such a
strong level of South Indian participation at any
event that is billed as a North Indian event.  Even in
temples which are equally visited by both North and
South Indians, they are never seen together in such
large numbers. In one of my meetings in Houston, I was
asked why South Indian Brahmans are committed to WBF.
I told them, first that South Indian Brahmans are no
different from any other Brahmans as far as the issues
of admission in schools, opportunities for jobs or
continuation of Sanatana Dharma are concerned.  What
is different though, is that they have been thrown out
of their own home and lands, and they do not want that
to happen to any one else. So, my fellow Brahmans, I
thank you for your level of trust in me and my service
to the Brahman community.  It is you who deserves the
credit, not me, as I am merely your servant.

Recently, I toured across North America to introduce
WBF to the Brahman community.  This, 15,000 mile
journey was accomplished in three weeks. I visited,
Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Toronto, and
Houston.  I was received very well every where I went.
The question often asked is why WBF, and what does it
actually do.

The WBF is engaged in bringing the world Brahman
community together.  We have adopted several
initiatives to address the issues that the Brahman
community is facing.

The Educational Initiative: (Chair: Dr. M G Prasad)
Through this initiative we plan to educate the
younger generation about our culture, our history and
our values.  Thus far, we have been doing it in our
own homes in our own way, and while we continue to do
that, we need to bring in a sense of community in a
large way.  In some cases, parents do not know what to
teach their children because while they were growing
up they themselves did not receive much beyond
performing certain rituals.  We will bridge that gap.
We are also working with the Omkar Foundation run by
Mr. Umesh Jois to help the Hindu community in schools
and colleges in America to help Hindu students
understand our Dharma.

The Priest Status Improvement Initiative: (Chair: Dr.
M G Prasad)
Through this initiative we intend to find ways to
improve the status of priests so that more Brahmans
opt for this profession. This is very important, and
was very eloquently stated during the inaugural
address at the convention by Dr. Srinivas
Yegnamsubramunian who is Chairman of Sringeri Vidya
Bharati Foundation.  He said, it is not the Vedas
which need our protection, but it is the Vidic Brahman
priests, and if they were to perish our entire culture
and civilization will be lost.

Matrimonial Facilitation Initiative: (Chair: Nirmal
Choubey)
Through this initiative we hope to facilitate
marriage within the Brahman community as without it we
are in real danger of losing our values. There is a
lot of discussion going on and we hope to have a
concrete action plan very soon.

Kashmiri Pundit Initiative: (Chair: Dr. Rabinder Koul)
Through this initiative we want to educate public
about the atrocities committed by terrorists, and push
for the safe return of all refugees to their homes in
Kashmir. We had an excellent exhibition on Kashmir at
the convention that helped us educate a lot. If they
were to perish, who will be next.

Government & Media Relations Initiative: (Chair: Dr.
Rajesh Shukla)
Under this initiative we want to address issues
created by Governments and media. At this time our
concentration is on the reservation system in India
which is affecting our identity as a Brahman.  Our
India Unit WBF India has just launched All India
Equity Forum to address the reservation issue.  The
forum is being chaired by Pt. Mange Ram Sharma, and
their first major public debate will take place
tomorrow in Delhi where the speakers are Basant Sathe
and Arun Shourie.

We have recently announced the formation of WBF Canada
under the leadership of Dr. Azad Kaushik and hope to
address issues that Canadian Brahmans are facing.

We have also announced our International conference in
Mauritius on 20th of December 2007, and hope to have
at least 20 families from America. Ten families have
already informed us their intention to participate.

In summary, WBF is addressing the issues that affect
the Brahman community no matter where they are in the
world, and I call upon you to join this organization.
The need for an organization of this type has never
been more acute.
