When I was in school, in our schools, there was no Sanskrit class, so it was not a choice. In College level, I did not really look into taking it although it was there, as I felt it would be too difficult, the college level Sanskrit. So, I took Hindi, Well I could have taken Kannada also, my mother tongue which I had studied through High School

world drama stage, we are actors, everything we do on any day 24x7 is our acting role that day, all days put together it is our life on the world stage, acting is done means life is over, we try to do the best we can with all our pluses and minuses, desires, skills, biases, egos, arrogances, strengths, weaknesses, others helping, others hurting etc all included, not everything in our hands, this "acting" is our life journey, takes us to our destiny, fate, divine will, it is only way, NO CHOICE !

Although in severe shock and great stress, we have faced the challenges and moved forward crossing the barriers biases impediments etc that came before us, it was tough, not easy, for my wife and sons and the others also I brought up my two sons Kaviraj and Shilpi as future presidents of usa, with that attitude/ outlook/ mindset, supporting and encouraging the leadership nature already in them. They are born in usa, grew up in usa and consider themselves as Americans. The country, the people and the whole world including India where we parents are originally from will need their leadership and contributions to go forward towards better future vision in true spirit of America. It is the nature of truth, nature of nature, nature of humanity.

I visited there once long time back in 1970 simmer time while attending a NSTS summer school in Chandigarh, we all had a weekend trip to Simla, including a rural area trip, and to a hilltop area (may be Manali or so) where we could see a snowcapped Himalayan mountain from a big distance of course

I am thirumala raya halemane, originally from India, now settled in USA. I was fired from good job as scientist engineer from AT&T Bell Labs in 1992, causing big shock to family, wife, children, siblings, others, and not able to find another job at same level, wife worked, although in shock, initially was targeted also, but later promoted, children also were targeted, and made to suffer, same with my brothers and sisters in India, but we have faced the challenges and trying to move forward in positive ways

the boy and the girl have to talk to each other, they must like each other, they must respect each other, be willing to support each other,
and if they are happy, we are also happy, and we parents bless, and try to provide any help and / or support if needed.
our role is more like a good positive catalyst, trying, hoping, praying for things to happen, for the best.
(from india or here or elsewhere, does not matter. these days in the age of internet, there is not much culture gap, and adjustment,
language etc are not hard, if both girl and boy are willing and interested, and if parental support is also there, in my opinion --
and often there is confusion among parents as well, in addition to any with boys and girls, perhaps).
basically the boy and the girl have to agree, and, get married, and be together afterwards, we are just facilitating, helping in the process. that's the approach we are taking.

From my perspective, both our sons are great kids, A++++.. + any number of times, everybody around them likes them, bosses, colleagues, employees, clients, friends, family included, and we were expecting them to do much better, in job positions, salary, life etc and that has not been the case. (previously also racial-cultural type discrimination was there ,, despite challenges, surviving and trying to move forward) ... So, that's the broad reason for my saying our sons targeted, suffered, and that should not have been Like "normal state of affairs" .. of course, i also never got a job at that level after the termination in 1992, wife also was initially targeted, but it did not work as she kept on working very hard and everybody around her appreciated it, supported her and then they gave up, that is only after realizing that going on that path will backfire seriously on them. Similar applies to our various other siblings also, on both sides of the family. So, I have good reasons to say what O have been saying, (!!!). Sorry about it, (since It is not pleasant type news)

in the several old photos here, from 1981 summer, I think. we see us (Usha & me), with our family relatives Prof Kunchinadka Narayana Bhat & family, other friends, when they visited us at our apartment in Highland Park NJ, and also, we went with them sight-seeing to New York City, and in New Jersey.
