Me:

I read an article, some (like 20) years ago. It said that Bengali Muslim clerics or experts on Islam after returning from their additional higher training or education in the Middle East were now (that is then) behaving a bit differently, more intensely or aggressively or "extremely", compared to previously. And, similarly, in Pakistan, after 1947, younger generations of Muslims were more of Islamic character oriented than their parents who got religiously converted from being Hindu (there was an interview with a Brahmin-heritage British-settled Pakistani clearly indicating this). So, in a sense, they are all moving towards their Islamic ideals, which has Jihad also in it, and unfortunately, while it argues and fights for justice, fairness etc, it is for or on behalf of Muslims and Islam only. It is against Hindus and non-Muslims  It is not the same as Dharma, not universal in nature. And, this means, it is likely to develop into a fighting force, a Jihadi force, very intense for the ideals of Islam, and somewhere there in it, we outsiders to Islam have to look for the universal good values of fairness, kindness, compassion, help, justice, truth, dharma etc That is, if and how, Islamic Jihad can help, or be effectively made to serve the cause of Truth & Dharma, indirectly only as could be expected, and in its impact, So, Hindus have to develop better understanding, have to be better aware, be strategically active in better ways etc  My opinion, of course, people may not agree. It is Okay, and also expected, to have individually-unique views. Best Wishes, Aummm..

(in reply, I said that we are doing Okay, continuing to do as I have been doing, nothing has changed much except that my wife took full retirement, after having worked as part-time consultant for about a year or so, and therefore she is able to relax a bit more than previously. Also, that our elder son Kaviraj is struggling with two leg injuries, a severe one from 2024 damaging ankle & foot, another from 2026 knee injury. Our younger son Shilpi is doing okay and is living with his wife in Portland
