i consider Mangalore where I lived after age 10, as my hometown, but I was born in village in Kasaragod district near Kumble, about 25 km from Mangalore, now in Kerala since 1956. and attended nearby primary school there, I was also in Bengaluru, St Joseph's College for my undergraduate degree, and IIT Madras for masters (both in Physics), then came to USA. for PhD, at University of Rochester.
