(Some Points Made Here), With,
1. Willingness of Leaders, also Others, to Self-Sacrifice has always been there, it does not mean they deserve less than love and great respect.
2. Self-Sacrifice and Sacrifice (of various types) can be power, can serve in that way, and it can be utilized well towards better more power or
it can become just victims-creation or used badly or squandered away or used for revenge etc also.
3. It is incorrect to think that God Divinity takes orders from devotees or bhakthas or those who are walking along together with Him etc,
To give an example, two individual devotee bhaktas are not identical, and they can be perceived as being at odds with each other also, like when
Shree Krsihna was sent by the Pandavas to negotiate with the Kauravas. It was clear that Draupadi desired differently than her five highly capable husbands. And Lord Krsihna made his own decisions, not exactly taking orders from these bhaktas, devotees etc. It is similar with Arjuna in the Kurikshetra battlefield. Shree Krsishna was always moving towards His goals, we can say. When devotees "walk together with God", they come to realize what the Divine goals are, and act accordingly only, thus helping or serving or in fulfillment of the Divine Will or the Divine Objectives, the impacts and outcomes of which can also be called as Destiny or Fate ... .

Me:
GREAT, very high sense of humor in Dr Eli's last sentence, excellent essay, suggesting God would be better off with a tradeoff, giving away forgiveness, accepting and dissolving human sins, and lightening His load. Although presented here as a barter marketing strategy, we can see it best as in a child pleading with a parent, for helping friends buy favorite toys. Centuries ago, money was coins, heavy loads. Self-sacrifice willingness in great leaders, like Moses here, always shine through, it is not justification for behaving badly and let others or Jesus or God take the sins load.

and to unload what he has in abundance, thus making the load a bit lighter and take something else in its place to help the pleading human group, and God is considered capable of handling the less desirable stuff that was traded in for the deal, unaffected by those sins. If extrapolated, it would mean condoning sinful behavior among the people since it can later be traded in for God's Mercy by a capable leader of the group. Arguing that Jesus has already paid for the sins of human society is like trying to justify behaviors otherwise considered as irresponsible or bad or evil.
