DELIVERING EXCELLENCE

In the first draft of my own resume writing (using a brochure booklet as the reference guide that the Career Services and Placement Center had made available to students at University of Rochester, in 1979 it must have been, I wrote my Objective as "POSITION OF EXCELLENCE" and gave it to the Advisors at that center office there for review. 

She gave me the feedback, in a personal meeting, and told me that no employer will be able to hire us based on that, that I had to be more specific about the job I was seeking. I accepted her good advice and changed it towards more specific to the job or kind of jobs being sought through the resume writing process. 

Well, despite that very appropriate, relevant advise at the time for getting a job after college studies, we all know that in fact EXCELLENCE is possible and needed or hoped for in all jobs, but the nature of it varies, with the nature of the jobs, of the positions, of the responsibilities involved in them, and keeping in mind, strengths, weaknesses, limitations, possibilities etc. And it is best when the spirit of EXCELLENCE is followed throughout, in the whole process, and not just for the outcomes or end results.

So, let me say that it is the Statement of Purpose, "DELIVERING EXCELLENCE" is my Statement of Purpose. Of course, in the actual role or work, there will be many other details, objectives to be achieved, timelines to be followed or expected or needed, situations and people relations to be navigated and managed, constraints to be handled, restrictions to be respected etc and many more. And working with the various other people involved, this statement of purpose is to be achieved.

world drama stage, we are actors, everything we do on any day 24x7 is our acting role that day, all days put together it is our life on the world stage, acting is done means life is over, we try to do the best we can with all our pluses and minuses, desires, skills, biases, egos, arrogances, strengths, weaknesses, others helping, others hurting etc all included, not everything in our hands, this "acting" is our life journey, takes us to our destiny, fate, divine will, it is only way, NO CHOICE !

Although in severe shock and great stress, we have faced the challenges and moved forward crossing the barriers biases impediments etc that came before us, it was tough, not easy, for my wife and sons and the others also I brought up my two sons Kaviraj and Shilpi as future presidents of usa, with that attitude/ outlook/ mindset, supporting and encouraging the leadership nature already in them. They are born in usa, grew up in usa and consider themselves as Americans. As my Supervisor Dr T K Srinivas at AT&T Bell Labs mentioned, in the months leading to my being fired from my job there, "Perception is More Important than Reality". I had asked him what was going on, like they are working on my patent (his answer = No), he had also said "why you look like that?", "you must be under lots of stress". "what you are is what matters, not what your intention" etc during those days. His responses, good real info, & ALL HELP there deeply crucial, hugely helpful, to analyze, to understand our situation, to move forward. He helped greatly with HATCC temple efforts also. My huge gratitude to him.
