Bangladesh’s Test of Religious Freedom: A Temple Under Guard, a Minority Community Under Siege HRCBM has published a new article on the Gaibandha/Palashbari temple controversy, where a Hindu temple project at the Sri Sri Radha Govinda and Kali Temple complex became the focus of organized pressure, public ultimatums, and demands for removal.

HRCBM’s field team visited the site, met with local law-enforcement authorities, and documented serious concerns regarding the safety of the temple, its founder Haridas Chandra Tarani Das, devotees, witnesses, and surrounding minority households. This case raises urgent questions about religious freedom, equal protection, rule of law, and the growing use of mob pressure to restrict visible Hindu religious life in Bangladesh.

The article also examines the wider blasphemy double standard: while minority youths accused under blasphemy-related pretexts may face arrest, mob violence, and lifelong consequences, public insults against Hindu deities and religious sentiment are often ignored or minimized.

Gaibandha should not be treated as an isolated local incident. It reflects a broader and long-documented pattern of intimidation, temple threats, selective justice, demographic decline, and institutional failure affecting Bangladesh’s religious minorities.

Bidyut, It is an EXCELLENT ARTICLE regarding Bangladesh temple case and hatred of Hindus furthering development. GET MORE WORLDWIDE PUBLICITY, SEND IT TO ALL COUNTRIES. THANK YOU. BEST WISHES. need all the publicity around the world, PLEASE MAKE SURE that as many people, organizations etc work for it, not only in Bangladesh, but also in Bengal, in India, in USA, in Europe, in Japan, in Australia etc, around the world.

Thirumala Raya Halemane (He/Him)  2:19 PM
Me:
Bidyut, I just donated to StandWithUs, a small amount in moral support for Jews. I had done so awhile back also from what I remember.
I also had done similarly to help the innocent war victims (Muslim) on the other side.

Unfortunately, this pendulum is swinging back and forth, like between two extreme ends, and unable to find the balance point in the middle.
It is not easy, given the way things are, how history has developed over the ages from ancient times.

It is natural that the victimized would try hard to stay alive and fight back, not willing to get suppressed, kept down and in humiliated unwanted status. They use any and all means, even get creative about methods to use. Jewish people know that. Bangladeshi Muslims also know that. Palestinians in Gaza also know it. Communists in Vietnam and elsewhere also did similarly. But very often, the long-term effects of making use of some of those strategies against the hostile or perceived-to-be-hostile forces could have other unwanted side-effects, just like we have with medicines, and now it is with society, the nation etc. It is hard to convince those who are fighting back from losing position or victim status need to use better, more acceptable methods, and such tactics for sustaining their fight may eventually bring them more self-respect and a sense of success also against the more powerful forces, as it happened in Vietnam.

So, it is important that Israel-Iran talks take place, and a better understanding, agreement, treaty is reached between them regarding all matters, including nuclear, because when it comes to survival, things take a somewhat different, deeper, stronger, sense or feeling about it, and Israel and the Jewish people also know it. Similar sentiments will apply to the other side as well.

Bidyut Sarker   2:26 PM
I agree, Israel and Arab and Iran issues must be settled for the peace of the world at the same time Hamas and all Islamic extremists need to defuse.

🙏 A Cry for Justice — Protect Pakistan’s Religious Minorities

Reports are circulating about Suvira, a 26-year-old Christian woman from Kot Lakhpat, Lahore, who is alleged to have been abducted, sexually assaulted, forcibly converted, and forced into marriage.

At this time, the full details of this specific case still need independent verification — but the larger crisis cannot be ignored.

For years, Christian, Hindu, and other minority families in Pakistan have raised their voices about allegations of forced conversions, forced marriages, intimidation, and the failure of institutions to protect the vulnerable.

As someone born in Sindh, I know this pain personally. My father stood for minorities, the oppressed, and those without power. Justice is not about religion — justice is about humanity.

No woman should ever lose her freedom in the name of faith.
No family should ever fear that their daughter will disappear.
No religion becomes stronger by coercion — faith without choice is not faith.

I call on Pakistani authorities, human rights organizations, and religious leaders of all communities to ensure every allegation is investigated transparently, victims are protected, and the rule of law applies equally to everyone.

Silence protects injustice. Courage protects humanity.

Sir, are you associated with the organization like Chinmaya Mission.

How can i get opportunities to contribute as sanskrit teacher.(Online)

Uncertainties here in job. (less earning )

Thirumala Raya Halemane (He/Him)  7:23 AM
Me:
Oh, Okay, Dr Kishor. All the Best.

I am not associated with Chinmaya Mission, or any organization at this time.

By the way, my elder brother was much interested in Chinmaya Mission activities decades ago while he was in USA (he relocated to India in 1989, lives in Mangalore), did a lot of volunteer help for them, it was very valuable to them, like invaluable or unlimited type value, my perspective).

I have attended lectures, concerts, poojas etc. organized by them. They do a lot of good work for the Indian American community here, for example their classes for children are very popular here, looks like. Good books, publications also. They have many centers, temples, now.

I think there is much room for improvement in your earnings potential. Lots of interest is there worldwide in Sanskrit studies, for learning Sanskrit etc., these days, and I expect it to increase even more, in India, in USA, in the global arena, East-West, North-South.

So, you are in a really good field or position compared to many others. Online possibilities are also there.

Keep your enthusiasm, interest, spirits high.  Keep exploring, talking to people etc. figure out which feels like a genuine forward step for you that you might consider adding on or changing to etc., I am sure you will find ways to move forward.

Do Well. All The Best. Good Luck. Be Brave. Be Wise, Take Care. Best Wishes, Aummm...

===+++===

in the several old photos here, from 1987, at our then new home in Howell, NJ, we see pictures from occasion of the Havyaka gathering at our then new home, to celebrate Yugadi, (?). In a few photos, I am seen doing the pooja, along with our son young Kaviraj, Usha carrying Shilpi standing next to us, me carrying Kavi, can be seen in one photo img112, where we are all standing, very likely towards the end of the pooja event.

Prof Narayana Avadhani was helping, guiding us, in the purOhit priest role, mantras and directions, he can be seen on the right side in the pooja photos, pooja being done in the area next to the big window. Guests, friends, family (my wife Usha's sister Sudha and her husband Mohan) are seen in the photos.

It was in 1987 about Springtime, April or so, I think, some months after we had moved into the newly built house in 1986 late-December, Christmastime.

I remember that during the cultural & social meeting part afterwards, at some point, our young Kaviraj got up onto the desk behind us, from the sofa where he was sitting with me in front of it, doing this on his own, no prompting from us or anyone, and standing on the desk-table, he sang a short song from memory, which he knew, for all of us to hear. That then was an unexpected, pleasant surprise to me / us, and in my mind, it indicated his high level of comfort in the vibes of the Havyaka gathering there.
