                Quantum Physics and Consciousness

Dear Friends,

Greetings of love and peace from the Bhaktivedanta Institute, Kolkata.

We are happy to inform you that the Bhaktivedanta Institute is organizing a unique conference on ‘Quantum Physics and Consciousness’ from Feb 4-5, 2017 at Kolkata, India.

Consciousness is mystery for all of us. Even after decades of research by philosophers, neuroscientists, psychologists, artificial intelligence scientists, biologists, quantum physicists, and many other scholars in myriad of today’s available fields, it is beyond our grasps. Even its precise and clear definition is still not available to us, let alone its comprehension and deeper understanding.

What is consciousness? How it arises? Is there really such a thing as consciousness? Could quantum physics help us to explore consciousness and if yes, then how? Could we develop a more precise physics of consciousness, perhaps broadening the very meaning and domain of term ‘physics’ as many physicists talk of new science? Could age old spiritual and mystical traditions helps us with their profound wisdom to deepen our understanding of consciousness?

The conference will attempt to explore some of these questions, weaving together under various themes, such as:

Foundations of Quantum Mechanics: lessons learned

Physics and Spirituality: Wisdom from Religious Traditions

Looking Inside: Cells, Brain, Mind and Consciousness

Science of Consciousness: Brain, psychology and Health

Quantum imprints in Life

Copenhagen Interpretation and alternatives

Theistic interpretation of quantum mechanics

Quantum computing, Artificial Intelligence & Mind

Probability, statistics and freewill

Unsolved problems of Quantum Physics

Philosophical implications of Quantum Mechanics

Quantum Entanglement & Consciousness

The conference, which will bring together some of the renowned thinkers together, is a humble tribute to scientist-saint Dr. T. D. Singh, Founder Director of the Bhaktivedanta Institute on his 80th Birth Anniversary year of 2017.

You are all invited and explore the very thing called consciousness which, though we all possess and use every day, do not understand it. The conference poster is attached below.

Last date for submission of abstracts is Dec 20, 2016 and complete papers by Jan 10, 2017. Registration will open from Dec 5, 2016. For more details and registration, please refer to conference website: www.binstitute.org/qpc or contact the conference secretary.

Yours sincerely,

On behalf of
