नमस्सवेभ्यः

अस्मिन्‌ वर्गे अस्माकं मार्गः दीक्षितपुष्पाकृतः | ऐतिहासिकदृष्ट्या शास्त्रीयव्याकरणं पठ्यते स्म सिद्धान्तकौमुदी इति ग्रन्थस्य आधारेण | स च मार्गः अतीव कष्टकरः | वस्तुतः दीक्षितपुष्पायाः मार्गः पाणिनेः मूलमार्ग एव | त्रिभ्यः वर्षेभ्यः प्राक्‌ यदा सिद्धान्तकौमुदी विरचिता, तदा मार्गः पर्यवर्तत |

अस्मिन्‌ वर्षे, अयं विषयः उपस्थापितः जाह्नवी-शिबिरे | अत्रास्ति तस्य करपत्रम्‌ | एकवारं कृपया सम्यक्तया पठन्तु, येन अस्माकं पद्धतेः सौकर्यं लाभश्च सर्वेषां कृते अतिस्पष्टं स्यात्‌ |

अष्टाध्यायी is definitively the way to learn, I would even say that MUST be the only way to learn, someone created this document and posted online, look at all the lopa sutras, pay closer attention to siddhanta Kaumudi and Laghu siddhanta kaumudi numbers.

 

There is no way one can related all this - the only resort is to memorize blindly.

 

In siddhanta kaumudi - Halantyam is 1 and then you have to wait for another 27 sutras to read Upadesheanunasika it. However when you read halantyam you would be scratching your head saying where did it come from.

 

Its a pity that people left अष्टाध्यायी and adopted kaumudi so widely.
