(U) historian help with a vignette for doctrine (serious inquiry)

Hi there,
How are you? I’m a doctrine development analyst at SWCS working for Civil Affairs. I am currently revising ATP 3-57.50 on Civil Knowledge Integration. I’m hoping you have a historian or someone who can help. Attached is an Army Pub regarding Cedar Falls. I’m specifically focusing on page 56. I want to turn this into a vignette. Right now CA is focusing doctrine on LSCO and I think this is a great example. Observe the birds + find rice = deny the enemy sustainment.
Does anyone have anymore information on this so I can flesh out the vignette. Are there results? Are there reports? It is in a “year book.” When I say year book, I recently came across 1st Cav’s from the years 1965-1970 and it covered in great detail the Operations / Missions they went on in both II and III Corps. Had a ton of photos and breaks down the accomplishments of each unit. I can’t bring my phone into work, but if you have questions I can always shoot you a photo after work of what it looks like.
I’m about to hit up DTIC (Defense Technical Information Center) they have a lot of MACV annual reports to see if it’s mentioned in there.
