Hello Yacintha,

I thought about your question regarding the ideal personality type for a junior development manager at Apple. Firstly, I think both introvert and extravert types could be a fit, as both action oriented (E) and thought oriented (I) people would need to be on a development team. However, E's would be better suited for the actual 'management' side of the job. As Apple is a firm that capitalizes on design and innovation, I would say that intuition (N) would be more suited for a development manager than sensing (S). Apple sells luxury products and often works from a supply-side economics model, creating and revolutionizing product markets as it innovates. As I see it, there is little factual data to support such risk taking. Rather, it is about trusting your intuition, your vision.
In terms of decision making for such an Apple employee, I think thinking (T) would take precedence over feeling (F). While intuition (N) would be the preferred mode of information gathering, that information has to be objectively and consistently assessed. However, I think there would be space for feeling (F) decision-making as well. Because I feel more strongly about the N/S characteristic than the F/T one, I would think that the perfect Apple development manager would be a perceptive (P) type. 'Keeping options open' is more in line with my perception of Apple's modus operandi than 'having everything settled and under control'. So my final types suited for the job would be ENTP/INTP. But, as discussed in class, one can act differently in different environments, and my assessment is based on my own perception of what a development manager would have to do.

I hope this helps!

This is such a good question. I've been thinking about it while my
internship. Well there are several personalities that can suit for
this position, but as they say: sometimes is not what you now but who
you know. So for an ideal networking through the company I think that
an extravert type could fit more, it is possible to make small chats
everywhere even in the bathroom; where you have a chance to meet an
important director. And I agree with Basiel; a mix of an *action
oriented* (E) and *thought oriented* (I) have more chances to succeed
in this kind of competitive environment. What I can add to the last
answer; which was really complete, is that no matter which kind of
personality you have, you must have a vision of what do you want to
achieve and after having it clear you must create an strategy to
achieve this goals, no matter if you want to apply for a Junior
Development Apple Manager or for being a Manager in another company,
having a strategy to achieve works better for each personality than
not having one and just go with the flow.

Regards,
Diego

I think INTP type would suit for the job as a junior development
manager at Apple.
Introvert : I think,in general, introvert have more talent in
developing than extravert because they are thought oriented.
Intuition : I think creative idea would come from intuition, not
sensing.
Thinking : T type person is good at logical thinking and analysis and
I think this type is better in development.
Perceive : P type person is flexible and open. A development plan can
change suddenly by a new technology or envrionment such as appearance
of new product of opposition. Thus p type who adapt well is better in
development.

Thank you all for replying! I totally agree with all your arguments and I think indeed that INTP will be the best personality to comply with this job offer!
