Messenger "back channels" for the BGS community

Hi everyone,


for the 2020 colloquium which was held online, a discord chat was
created. It has been mostly dormant since then. A short while ago, Tiago
suggested we could revive it. As an alternative, we also created a group
on the Signal messenger app. Both are inofficial chat forums.


If you'd like to have an informal chat during the upcoming conference,
you're invited to join one or both.

Both apps are free.

Signal ranks better regarding data privacy. It's open source software
with a non-profit organization behind it.

Discord is proprietary. It aims for community-building and interactive
features, offering extras such as voicecalls and videochat.

Hi Jonas,

Jeffrey Goldberg doesn't use Discord, so he's hoping it will be safe to assume that he'll just be added on Signal ;-)
